Investigations Officer

  1. Role and responsibilities

The Investigations Officer will be responsible for providing administrative support to the Investigations Coordinator in implementing and following up on various matters related to investigations. The duties will encompass providing support and coordinating with other departments on all related matters and ensuring proper reporting and data management.

1. Generic responsibilities:

  1. Ensure adherence with NRC policies, tools, handbooks and guidelines.
  2. Implement delegated Compliance and Risk Management function portfolio according to plan of action.
  3. Prepare and develop status reports as required by management.
  4. Ensure proper filing of documents.
  5. Promote and share ideas for improvement of the support function.
  6. Advise and support staff on related procedures, policies, and documents required.
  7. Implement and train staff on NRC’s related policies and procedures.
  8. Ensure compliance with NRC’s policies and procedures, and follow up on the standardization of procedures across all offices.
  9. Ensure that NRC’s related activities are implemented within NRC’s Protection mainstreaming guidelines and report any breaches/concerns to the line manager and/or focal point for proper action.

2. Specific responsibilities:

  1. Conduct monthly field visits to the area offices to follow up and evaluate the implementation of related policies, highlight on corresponding discrepancies, and provide needed support.
  2. Maintain updates and tracking of all investigations using the applicable logs and reports, and ensure proper archiving of related files and documents for easy retrieval both in hard and soft copies.
  3. Ensure that the filing are compliant with Support Secure Documentations procedures.
  4. Draft, transcribe, translate, and consolidate minutes of meeting from staff meetings related to investigations as required.
  5. Assist in training and on-the-job support to all assigned investigators and focal points as requested by the line manager
  6. Implement the Anticorruption guidelines in all work related aspects
  7. Follow up and report accurate and timely progress status reports on all investigations and provide any needed analysis and suggestions for improvements.
  8. Liaise with relevant stakeholders to follow up and update the needed trackers and documents
  9. Conduct and participate in minor investigations on misconducts and breaches as delegated by the line manager and prepare finding reports as per NRC’s process and templates
  10. Participate in the preparation and coordination of investigations training, refreshers, and related capacity building activities

3. Critical Interfaces:

By interfaces, NRC means processes and projects that are interlinked with other departments/units or persons. Relevant interfaces for this position are:

  • Coordinate with NRC Staff across all area offices for Investigation related issues
  • Coordinate and liaise on related employee relations matters with the Employee Relations Coordinator, HR Manager, and HR field staff
  • Work closely with the Accountability, Risk & compliance , Security, HR, and Protection departments on reports and complaints to ensure accuracy and data update

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in Employee Relations, Conflict Resolutions or any other related field
  • Bachelor degree in, Human Resources, Law, Administration, or any other related field
  • Fluent in both Arabic and English, written and spoken
  • Proficient in MS Office Applications mainly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Excellent presentation, writing and reporting skills
