Norwegian Refugee Council is implementing an urgent shelter intervention to improve the shelter living situation of Syrian refugees hosted by Lebanese families in Bekaa- Lebanon, The role of the PC is to coordinate the day to day activities of these projects ensuring that they are implemented within NRC’s guidelines and as per the project proposals. In addition, the PC will take the lead in all aspects of the project management cycle from needs assessments to project reporting. JOB PURPOSE The Project Coordinator will: •Manage the budget to ensure that sufficient funds are available to meet the objectives of the project. •Be responsible for the performance of the staff. •Act as NRC’s representative in the Bekaa. •Contribute to the fulfilment of the aims and objectives for NRC in Lebanon. •Be responsible for the overall planning, implementation and technical standards of the projects. •Contribute to the strengthening of the position of NRC in Lebanon; liaising with the Lebanese authorities, the UN agencies, donors, other NGOs and partners. •Act as the focal point for the contractors and the community. REPORTING TO •The PC reports to the field manager/ Program Coordinator. TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES The Project Coordinator is responsible for the overall planning and implementation of the project. The PC will: •Develop procedures for the implementation of the construction programme in accordance with NRC principles and ways of working. •Ensure that construction is in accordance with NRC standards and Lebanese building codes and meets the quality as agreed with the community. •Ensure that all project activities are in accordance with budget lines. •Ensure a constructive co-operation with NRC’s other programmes in Lebanon, in particular the CM and ICLA activities in the Bekaa. •Prepare final and intermediate reports on shelter activities to donors. •Ensure a constructive co-operation with local authorities. •Ensure a constructive co-operation with other international and local NGOs as well as the UN family •Participate in relevant meetings. •Participate and contribute in the identification of new areas of intervention •Conduct assessments •Participate in the drafting of new proposals ACHIEVEMENT INDICATORS •The project are completed on time and within budget •The community are part of the process and are not excluded •Relations with all other stakeholders are good •The construction standard meets NRC guidelines
