Site Supervisor

The Site supervisor is expected to represent Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) Lebanon in a respectful and professional manner and always act in accordance with the NRC Code of Conduct.   JOB PURPOSE The role of the site supervisor is to assist the Project Manager in ensuring efficient and high-quality implementation of the Mohajareen technical construction activities.   DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Construction NRC’s continuous representation on the construction site. Day to day liaison and monitoring of the Contracting Firm in charge of the construction activities in Mohajareen (including monitoring of work plan(s), quality of works, site attendance, etc.) Monitoring accuracy of technical implementation against Consultancy and Construction contracts, including adhering to Lebanese regulations to this neighborhood, accuracy of work plans, necessary tests, measurements and BoQs. Provide technical support to the contractor when requested by the Consultancy Firm. Along with the Project Manager, monitor expenditure on Consultancy and Contractor works (on a regular basis). Along with the Project Manager, ensure that all contracts and construction are carried out in accordance with NRC and donor’s regulations. Along with the Project Manager, inspection of compliance with EC regulations, contract provisions and NRC standards for all construction materials and equipment. Along with the Project Manager, insure quantity and quality control of works and materials – including necessary tests. Ensure that all necessary filing related to the construction activities is accurate, complete and up to date. Management of technical team if required. Along with the Project Manager, promote the highest level of health and safety on the site of Consultant, Contractor and NRC’s staff as well as building occupants and third party visitors.   Coordination with others Plan activities on a daily and weekly basis in coordination with the PM, to ensure efficient implementation of activities. In coordination with the PM, responsible to minimize interference from the community (beneficiaries and other families) on the works of the Consultancy Firm and Contractor(s). In coordination with the rest of the Mohajareen team (including local Partner), assist the beneficiaries by: -         Clearly describing NRC technical project information in meetings when required. -         Offering technical advice and support, especially during the finishes-phase. -         Provision of accurate information about NRC and its activities. Input into the elaboration of the Reconstruction Guidelines for Mohajareen.     Others Carry out any other duties as requested by the PM.   Reporting Be present on Site on a daily basis, providing regular (weekly notes) reports to the line manager using NRC’s reporting templates.
