Social Field Assistant

The Norwegian Refugee Council is implementing an urgent shelter intervention to improve the shelter living situation of Syrian refugees residing in the Bekaa region.   The Social Field Assistant (SFA) is expected to represent the Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) Lebanon in a respectful and professional manner and always act in accordance with NRC Code of Conduct. JOB PURPOSE The SFA links the beneficiaries with the project staff and other stakeholders through meetings, home visits and activities. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Data collection activities -       Collect and report information regarding the overall situation of the family in the community with specific attention paid to those targeted by the project. -       Conduct needs assessments, exit interviews, informal interviews, and focus group discussions -       Maintain social and beneficiary files to a high standard complete with up to date information Social activities -          To explain the project aims and objectives to the beneficiaries through daily contact and the organization of regular meetings, focus group discussions, home visits -          To assess and identify vulnerable cases -          To coordinate with local NGOs Facilitation of technical implementation -          During shelter renovation, ensure that issues affecting the beneficiaries are communicated to the Project Coordinator (PC) and Technical Field Coordinator (TFC) -          To inform the beneficiaries about the schedule of work and discuss the consequences on their daily life -          When necessary to resolve disputes -          To report to the PC and TFC the reactions of the beneficiaries to enable the schedule or the technical implementation to be adapted. Reporting activities -          Assist in the design, maintenance, and use of the data collection system and punctual reporting to enable measurable result to prove the achievement of project objectives -          To report to the PC the social conditions of the beneficiaries and any other important matters -          To share ideas with the PC to fulfill the beneficiaries’ needs -          To arrange meetings with the beneficiaries and where necessary discuss issues. -          To work closely with the Social Field Officer to schedule daily and weekly goals and activities -          He /she can be asked required to perform other related duties as identified by his/her supervisor
