Social Worker Nrc

JOB PURPOSE: NRC will establish a Community Education Centre for displaced Syrian in Lebanon. This project reaches out to Syrian families in Akkar/North Lebanon. NRC seeks to provide educational support, recreational activities and life skills learning opportunities. Beneficiaries to the program face a number of social welfare issues in addition to those being addressed through education. This position will be responsible for developing and facilitating training sessions, outreach activities and providing problem-solving activities for vulnerable displaced Syrian in the area of work. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: -Provide displaced Syrian community with relevant information and orientation -Fill in social questionnaires with shelter beneficiaries and negotiate the contract agreements with them. -Explain the selection criteria for the community as well as the beneficiaries. -Participate and assist in the organization of training sessions in the center -Do home visits for assessment and follow-up of displaced Syrian situation -Carry out awareness sessions in collective centers - Work with partner agencies for appropriate referrals -Report accurately and punctually, according to NRC’s rules and regulation, on vulnerable persons. -Provide problem-solving activities for families in crisis -Provide group based activities for parents, children and youth -Organize psycho-social activities for children and youth -Archive documents and data in both hardcopies and electronically. -Report timely on activities to the line manager and relevant NRC senior staff. -Perform any other tasks as assigned by NRC management. Experience Required oExperience in social work oExperience in participatory programs. oExperience in community sensitization/ mobilization. oAbility to work under pressure Educational Requirements oUniversity education in Social Science preferred Additional Qualities a Successful Candidate Should Possess oTeam spirit oFlexibility oStrong communication and organizational skills. oStrong computer skills (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
