1. Role and responsibilities
The Project Coordinator is responsible for coordination of the WASH Community Support Project (CSP) within the Bekaa area.
General Responsibilities
Participate and contribute in the identification of areas of intervention in relation to community support projects.
Develop procedures for the implementation of the WASH CSP in accordance with NRC principles
Ensure that all project activities are in accordance with budget lines and work plans
Develop the capacity and responsibilities of WASH staff
Prepare and follow up on project procurement plans
Design adapted WASH community support solutions for the different areas of and types of intervention, taking into account the National WASH strategy standards, SPHERE standards and special needs.
Ensure that the WASH CSPs are in accordance with NRC Standards and local regulations
Prepare and implement the WASH CSP M&E plan in coordination with the M&E department to ensure the WASH project meets its objective and expected quality.
Ensure a constructive cooperation with NRC’s other Core Competencies: CSMC, Shelter, ICLA and Education
Prepare/contribute to reporting on project activities according to agreed deadlines
Ensure a constructive coordination with the local authorities and other international NGOs (WASH and Health) as well as UN agencies.
Attend the local WASH Working Group meetings.
Specific responsibilities
Identify areas of implementation of Community Support Projects (CSP) based on NRC guidelines
Meet with local authorities to get the required approvals for CSP implementation
Ensure that CSPs are relevant and linked to NRC humanitarian response
Proceed to tender document writing including: Bill of Quantities, Technical Specifications and Scope of Work
Review contractors and suppliers’ tender specification
Prepare work plan and monitoring plan for each CSP
Supervise contractors work during the implementation phase
Coordinate with Logistics department on suppliers’ selection
Coordinate Security department on the access of new areas of intervention
Critical interfaces
By interfaces, NRC means processes and projects that are interlinked with other departments/units or persons within NRC. Relevant interfaces for this position are:
Shelter:
Small Shelter Unit (SSU) project: ensure that CSPs benefit to SSU beneficiaries, if possible
Informal Settlements: ensure that CSPs benefit to ITS beneficiaries, if possible
Collective Site Management and Coordination: ensure that referrals from CSMC linked to municipal infrastructures are taken into consideration (CSMC)
Education: ensure that CSPs benefit to public schools or learning centers when possible

Academic Qualifications:
Master/ Bachelor degree or equivalent in Civil, Hydraulic, Environment or Public Health Engineering
Degree in management or social science is a plus

At least 2 years of relevant experience in a humanitarian/recovery context
High level of management and coordination of staff
Excellent project management skills
Previous experience of working in complex and volatile context
