Mouneh Production Facilitator
CBM-Funded Project
Nusaned – Akkar, Lebanon
1. Background
Nusaned is implementing a livelihood and food processing initiative funded by CBM, aiming to support women in vulnerable situations and promote equitable access to livelihood opportunities for those facing social, economic, or participation barriers through engagement in traditional Mouneh production activities in Akkar.
The project seeks to strengthen women’s participation in income-generating activities by supporting the production of high-quality traditional food products while ensuring food safety, hygiene, accessibility, and inclusive production standards.
To support the implementation of this activity, Nusaned is seeking a qualified Mouneh Production Facilitator to supervise, mentor, and support a diverse group of 10 women throughout the production period, fostering a safe, respectful, and inclusive working environment that encourages participation and skill development for all participants.
The assignment will take place in Halba – Akkar over a total of 60 working days.
2. Objective of the Assignment
The overall objective of this assignment is to ensure the effective, safe, and inclusive implementation and supervision of Mouneh production activities through technical guidance, production monitoring, and daily facilitation of the women’s group.
The facilitator will support the participants in maintaining high product quality, food safety, hygiene standards, organized workflows, and timely production processes while fostering a collaborative and inclusive environment that encourages participation, skill development, and equal engagement among all women involved.
3. Scope of Work
The selected facilitator will be responsible for:
- Supervising, mentoring and guiding 10 women during daily Mouneh production activities.
- Ensuring proper implementation of food safety, hygiene, and quality standards throughout all stages of production.
- Organizing and facilitating daily workflows and production processes to ensure efficiency.
- Monitoring product quality, preparation techniques, packaging, and storage practices.
- Providing technical support, practical coaching and hands-on guidance throughout the production period.
- Preparing weekly production plans and coordinating activities accordingly to meet production targets and timelines.
- Preparing weekly material and procurement requests based on production needs.
- Maintaining attendance records and monitoring participant engagement.
- Coordinating regularly with the Nusaned project team regarding progress, challenges, and production needs.
- Promoting a safe, respectful, and inclusive working environment that encourages equal participation, teamwork, and mutual respect among all participants.
- Ensuring proper use and maintenance of kitchen equipment and tools.
4. Duration and Location
- Location: Halba – Akkar, Lebanon
- Duration: 60 working days
- Working Hours: 4 hours per day
- Starting Date: To be determined based on project implementation schedule.
5. Deliverables
The facilitator will be expected to submit:
- Daily attendance sheets.
- Data entry on a tracker provided by nusaned staff for days calculations for participants.
- Weekly production plans.
- Weekly material request lists.
- Weekly progress reports summarizing:
- Production activities completed.
- Products produced.
- Challenges faced.
- Recommendations and follow-up actions.
- Final assignment report summarizing:
- Overall achievements.
- Production outcomes.
- Lessons learned.
- Recommendations for future interventions.
6. Required Qualifications and Experience
The facilitator should possess:
- Proven experience in Mouneh production and food processing activities.
- Good knowledge of food hygiene, food safety standards and quality assurance standards.
- Demonstrated experience in applying inclusive and gender-sensitive approaches, with the ability to engage and support participants from diverse backgrounds, including women with and without disabilities.
- Ability to foster an accessible, respectful, and inclusive working environment that promotes participation, dignity, and equal opportunities for all participants.
- Strong facilitation, communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to organize workflows, coordinate tasks, and supervise small production teams.
- Flexibility and ability to adapt to operational needs during implementation.
- Previous experience working with NGOs, community-based initiatives, and/or livelihood projects is considered an asset.
- Ability to prepare reports and planning documents in a professional manner.
7. Reporting Line
The facilitator will report directly to the assigned Nusaned project team and coordinate closely with the project coordinator and field staff.
