A recycling officer is responsible for processing recyclable materials during his/her day-to-day operations. This involves weighing and separating different material components or grouping them together based on what they are produced of. He/She must maintain a clean work area at all times to ensure a safe and healthy workplace.
Detailed Job Description
Receive nonorganic recyclables at the facility daily.
Weigh and manage the quantities of recyclables received, sort them, and stores them for pressing and compacting.
Coordinate with the field officer on:
Pick-up dates with stakeholders.
Inputting the data received on Microsoft excel and on the waste management application (Nudawwer App).
Report to the Project Manager and/or Field Officer on every activity or incident that arise.
Support the Reclamation Worker on data collection and management.
Reply to beneficiaries’ questions and complaints and informs them about new updates and activities.
Attend training and workshops related to the project when requested by the Project Manager.
Perform any additional tasks, when requested by the Project Manager.
Reports to: Project Manager, Field Officer
Supervisory Responsibility:
Collaborates and Works with: Reclamation officer, HR, Procurement, and Communication Departments.
Knowledge and Experience
High School Diploma Preferably
Proven Experience in humanitarian field work.
Solid knowledge on recycling and waste management.
Extensive knowledge on the area of operation.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Strong work ethics and willingness to learn.
Demonstrate strong communication skills.
Detail-oriented and high level of constructive attitude and proactivity.
