RESPONSIBILITIES
- Greetings women and / or couples and gathers biodata and obstetrical information
- Completes clinical assessment including patient interview and physical examination and assess clinical situation.
- Identifies and assess the medical, social or psychological risk for the mother or couple
- Updates patients files and maintain data at all times
- Develops and implements monitoring and prevention action plans.
- Offers to patient blood and other tests investigations relevant to the pregnancy follow-up.
- Collaborates closely with the center’s Physician and/or Community Obstetrician for the brief and follow up of patients.
- Organizes and schedule the appointments for genetic scans (morphological ultrasound)
- Transmits the summary of patient’s file to the obstetrician sonographer for his monthly visit.
- Monitors the state of the health of pregnant women with high-risk pregnancy through monthly and on-need checkups.
- Follows up on the inventory levels of products / materials related to the obstetrical activity and liaises with relevant parties to ensure their availability in the center
- Provides therapeutic counseling and education for pregnant women and couples / families with a focus on various topics such as perinatal mental Health disorder, lifestyle & habits, Healthy diet.
- Provides parenting support and counseling for pregnant women and mothers covering couple’s needs, breast-feeding, preparation for childbirth, …
- Delivers awareness sessions targeted to pregnant women and/or couples aiming at enhancing the parenting experience.
- Applies and follows code of ethics, values, mission, and vision of Order of Malta - Lebanon
- Performs other related duties assigned by the healthcare center administrator.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree of Midwife
- Practice Permission
- Diploma in echography / breastfeeding from a university is a plus.
- 2 years’ experience as a midwife in either a clinic, a hospital or a community center
- Knowledge of good practice and policies of midwifery
- Responsible with the ability to ensure emergency management.
- Detail oriented and analytical skills

- Planning and organization skills
- Initiative and drive for results.
- Ability to work in a multi-cultural, multi-ethnic environment with sensitivity and respect for diversity.
- MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
- Fluency in Arabic, English and French (written and spoken).
