Solar Water Heaters

Oxfam also works with local partners to contribute to the protection and empowerment of marginalized women and men.

1.Supply and installation of solar water heaters.
2.Suitable for residential and community use, designed for placement on rooftops, typically on buildings around two floors high.
3.The heater shall be reliable and low maintenance.
4.Piping connections to water network: Piping shall be plastic PEX (UNI Approved) or equivalent.
5.Piping insulation: >10mm tube foam with UV protection.
6.Supporting Frame: Galvanized steel, thickness ≥ 2 mm
7.Hot water tank capacity ≥ 150 liters
8.Hot water tank thickness ≥ 3 mm
9.Inner Tank Material: non-corrosive
10.Hot water tank insulation ≥ 50 mm
11.Protection against overheating, pressure relief valve.
12.Protection against freezing.
13.Collector type: High quality evacuated tubes collector.

14.Auxiliary electrical heating system: to be supplied within the hot water storage tank as secondary heating source (1000 – 1500 W, 220 V with voltage variation: 170-240 V).
15.Temperature indicator and circuit breaker for resistance power control.
16.The Contractor’s relationship will directly be with OXFAM staff.
17.The contractor is responsible for the complete installation including all mechanical fittings and accessories.
18.The contractor is responsible for connecting the existing water tank to the heater and connecting the heater to the network. Also, he is fully responsible of lifting the heaters and other accessories on the roofs of the buildings.

19.An Oxfam staff or a representative will be responsible to inspect and confirm the work.
20.The contractor must be capable of completing this task within 15 days, delivering it in batches. (15 at a time).
21.The contractor must provide proof that the solar heater systems are available in Lebanon.
22.Oxfam has the right to increase or decrease quantities at the same unit cost.
23.Any item not complying with the specs will be rejected.
24.The supplier shall submit After Sales & Warranty Services for at least 1 year (include inspection, changing parts, rehabilitation).

Quotations and applications must reach Oxfam no later than 29/07/2025, Midnight, Lebanon time.

Any questions, remarks or requests for clarification can be sent up to 4 days before the submission deadline in writing. The (anonymised) questions will be answered to all applicants
