BADAEL Social Media Campaigner

BADAEL is a project funded by MADAD/EU and carried out by Oxfam, UTOPIA, Association Najdeh and Beyond Reform and Development. BADAEL aims at supporting entrepreneurial initiatives with a social impact to improve the socio-economic situation in 5 different areas in Lebanon: Tripoli (including Bared and Beddawi camps), el Minieh, Koura, Saadnayel and Joubjanine. BADAEL activities are open for Palestinians, Syrians and Lebanese. The project aims to:

  • Engage local community members in identifying priorities for the local socioeconomic development of their communities by recognizing local needs and opportunities in their areas.
  • Train more than 9000 individuals, especially youth and women, on leadership and social entrepreneurship skills.
  • Launch a competition and then provide financial and technical support to 30 to 40 entrepreneurial initiatives addressing challenges in the communities
  • Network and campaign to advance Social Entrepreneurship (SE) as a way to support socioeconomic development led by members of the communities.

Since one of the fundamental purposes of the project is to effectively spread the notion of social entrepreneurship, the activities have been divided into three levels: individual, public sector, and private sector.

The project targets thousands of individuals who will receive training on the basics of social entrepreneurship while also promoting social cohesion and active citizenship. The project will organize a competition for SEs on the national level.

BADAEL will implement outreach activities in the areas of work, and when applicable on national level. This will be in parallel with producing and utilizing different communication and visibility materials during the life of the project. Social media represents a key tool to raise awareness and advocate for social cohesion, and the concept of Social Entrepreneurship as one of the tools to achieve social stability. Also, Social Media should be used to promote the competition and recruit participants, as well as promoting the project’s activities. Facebook and Youtube are the main platforms to be used by the project.

Job Description

The selected expert will:

  • Design Social Media strategy in coordination with the project’s communications staff to raise awareness and advocate on the project’s concepts and recruit applicants and mobilize supporters.
  • Strategy should include clear time frame and tactics: posts, boosted posts and ads, and live coverage of events.
  • Support staff in executing the strategy.
  • Create content for Facebook account, with some assistance on the Youtube Channel.
  • Create content to promote the project’s activities, key messages and upcoming competition.
  • Monitor conversations on Facebook, crafting creative and responsive messages.
  • Plan paid social media strategies using Facebook advertising tools, including identifying target audiences.
  • Plan paid Google search strategy (Adwords) including number of clicks etc….
  • Increase BADAEL’s audience size and engagement metrics.
  • Promote produced materials: Studies, reports, infographics, and videos.
  • Coordinate evaluation and report on the progress of the strategy.
  • Consultant is required to integrate the key message of the existing visibility plan to the Social Media strategy.
  • Comply to donor’s and Oxfam’s guidelines and policies.

Qualifications

  • Minimum experience of 3 years in producing, editing and disseminating multimedia content for online audiences.
  • Experience in social media campaigns with nonprofit and humanitarian organizations.
  • Experience producing and interpreting social media analytics.
  • Proven skills in communication and creating content in Arabic and English for different audiences.
  • Culture and gender sensitive.
  • Willing to travel to Tripoli and Bekaa for coverage if needed.

Duration: December 2018 and January, February, March 2019

Disbursement Schedule:

Oxfam will release the first half of the agreed total costs upon the submission of the relevant work-plan (the overall workplan including tools, plans and methodology should consider the ongoing events in the field) with clear deliverables and timeline

The second half will be transferred upon the completion of services and submission of a final narrative report.

 

The transportation to and from the events’ venues are the responsibility of the consultant. Whenever there are Oxfam staff traveling to the same areas and within the same timeframes transportation might be offered.
