Terms of Reference for Translation
1. Background
Oxfam Great Britain (Oxfam GB) is a development, humanitarian and campaigning organization that works with others to find lasting solutions to poverty and suffering around the world.
Over 25 years, Oxfam GB has been working in many countries in the Arab region with the aim of promoting gender equality and reducing poverty and sufferings of people affected by humanitarian crisis.
AMAL is a three-year multi-country, multi-affiliate programme, which aims to promote active participation and leadership of women in the MENA region, including the poorest and most marginalised women, in local, national and regional governance structures and decision-making processes.
2. Purpose & Deliverables
The purpose of the assignment is to translate/edit from English into Arabic and vice versa and from English into French and vice versa, documents provided by Oxfam to the consultant throughout the duration of the contract. The documents will be provided as need arises on an ad hoc basis.
Payment for each report provided to the consultant will be done upon review and approval of each translated document.
3. Duration
The provision of the services is to commence on 15- 09- 2015 and end on
31 – 1 - 2016, unless this Agreement is terminated early in accordance with the terms of this Agreement.
4. Process
For each document, the consultant & Oxfam should agree on a timeframe for completion of each document. The total cost should be based on the agreed rate multiplied by the numbers of words.
