BUDGET RESPONSIBILITY: This post may be responsible for some specific regional campaigns and advocacy budgets.
DIMENSIONS
Coordination and delivery of agreed plans or strategies on gender justice, especially on ending Violence against Women and Girls and Women, Peace and Security (WPS) and Women, Peace and Security (WPS) Representation in coordination meetings and some external relationships

Plays active role in lobby, policy, advocacy and campaigning on issues related to GJ programming through personal contacts and co-ordination of allies.
Takes part in public campaigns based on agreed plan of action and objectives.
Supports fundraising efforts and produce clear and quality reports (financial and narrative) that demonstrate good accountability.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
As a successful GJ Influencing Coordinator you will work with others on the following regional priorities:
Support the development and delivery of influencing work on Gender Justice, especially on WPS and eVAWG in the MENA
Deliver campaigning across the region to challenge norms and behaviours around gender and women’s rights
Ensure that RGJP’s influencing work; especially campaigning work is up to Oxfam’s requirements and standards on Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL).
Provide support to the Women Access to Justice (WAJ) programme including its partners to implement sound policy and advocacy work related to WAJ at country level.
Work with country policy advisors and the regional campaigns and policy team to identify policy opportunities at country and regional levels to advance gender justice
Engage with Oxfam’s global campaign networks
Support partners in advocacy and campaign work and deliver capacity-building support as per capacity-building plan and as needed
Work closely with the Media and Communications Officer to support digital campaigning and ensure visibility and support knowledge management of RGJP products.
Work with the regional campaigns and policy team to engage the League of Arab States and other regional actors on gender justice issues.
Work with the GJ Funding Coordinator – MENA r to ensure coordination of resourcing for OI campaigns action and support resource mobilisation efforts for WPS work
Work with the RGJP PMEAL manager to ensure sound monitoring and evaluation of influencing work in the MENA Undertake any tasks which are necessary to deliver gender justice across the region as required.
Work in collaboration with the National Influencing Team in Oxfam HQ, and Oxfam’s teams and country offices in the region to ensure alignment of the RGJP‘s influencing with country, regional and global priorities.
Provide support to research on gender, conflict and fragility.
Provide support to partners to engage with decision making processes on gender justice at country, regional and global levels, as needed.
SKILLS AND COMPETENCE:
Essential
- Strong knowledge on the WPS agenda and experience in supporting its implementation at country level.
- Strong experience on developing and delivering advocacy and campaigning work on gender justice, especially on Women, Peace and Security and eVAWG in the MENA region
- Strong expertise and experience on policy work on gender justice in the MENA region with demonstrated experience in leading successful policy work on gender justice, especially on WPS and eVAWG in the MENA with track record in supporting changes at national and regional levels.
- Experience working with women’s rights organisations and networks in the MENA region and ability to network and establish new partnership and coalition to advance gender justice and women’s rights in the region.
- Strong knowledge and experience in engaging with regional intergovernmental bodies, especially the Leagues of Arab States and the African Union.
- Ability to motivate others by providing inspiration and campaign leadership.
- Strong project management skills, particularly with regard to working with others to get things done.
- Knowledge and experience of working at national, regional and global levels targeting regional and global platforms on women’s rights and strong knowledge and understanding of policy processes on GJ at country, regional and global levels.
- Experience of working effectively in complex matrix management situations, including with, partners and allies.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills both Arabic and English in order to motivate, influence and negotiate both internally and externally with demonstrated experience in writing position and policy papers on GJ and WPS both in Arabic and English.
- Extensive research and writing skills both in Arabic and English.
- Ability to liaise with and represent Oxfam externally to wide range of actors at, regional and international levels.
- Availability for regular travel in the MENA region and outside of the region as needed.
- Experience in capacity building on GJ and on influencing for GJ
- Be creative and innovative
- and Knowledge about Middle East context and public opinion on issues related to GJ
- Fluency in written and oral English and Arabic
