Field Worker

  General Description Field Workers (FW) play a critical role in PCRF.  He/She is responsible for representing the face and visibility of the organization on a local level, identifying and managing medical cases for treatment locally and abroad, supporting volunteer missions and humanitarian projects, and ensuring a high level of professionalism and transparency in order to ensure organizational effectiveness and efficiency.  The SW reports to the Lebanon Coordinator (LC) and will also be working under the direct supervision of the Medical Missions Coordinator (MMC) and the Patient Affairs Coordinator (PAC). Field Responsibilities   Identifying Medical Cases in need of Treatment through networking in the geographical area under their responsibility communicating the role and activities of the PCRF on a continuous basis by phone, email and other mediums to all public and private doctors, hospital administrators, local and international NGOs, charities, women’s organizations and local governments who deal with health care for children and sub-specialties controlling the data for medical cases identified for treatment putting into database submitting files to (PAC) in head office medical reports, x-rays, photos... social reports passports and visas for cases traveling abroad communicating in a clear and professional manner medical and social issues with the family of child orientating them about the work of the PCRF providing each family brochures in Arabic providing reports and updates on progress of treatment status when necessary following-up with family for children after treatment further medical care needed should be clearly stated to the family medicine and treatment for the child should be monitored and communicated to the PAC CASE MANAGMENT For cases to be considered for treatment outside of the country, clear socio-economic evaluations must be provided home visits to the child’s home with report submitted in writing (English and Arabic) photos of home for cases to be treated by visiting missions screening list for team to be submitted to management two weeks before mission from previous surgery lists new cases from field new cases from MOH Running Medical Missions working under the supervision of MedicalMissions Coordinator (MMC), preparing with hospital daily working schedule of mission ensuring OR and anesthesia/nursing/surgery support ensuring medicine and equipment available communicating with the local staff the cases for screening Submitting to the management the list for screening not less than two weeks before mission. submitting to PAC specific medical information on specific cases for mission further medical information or tests needed daily support of medical teams logistics food in hospital, hotel or dinner supply PCRF vests and phone to one person from volunteers update surgery list and ensure team and local hospital staff have most recent information report any problems with local staff, hospital administration, volunteers or families of children treated to PCRF management submit list and report of final screening and surgery list to management within one week of last day of mission. clear and complete photos of mission 5 good photos of team screening 5 good photos of team in OR 5 good photos of team outside hospital in PCRF vests all together follow-up meeting with hospital administration one week after mission to address issues related to: screening room, organization and support OR support from local doctors and nurses issues with medicine or equipment      Running Humanitarian Projects summer camps dates, location, partnership and budget for summer camp should be submitted to management six months before camps volunteers to camps should be oriented one day before camp on proper dress, cultural issues, responsibilities, and activities  report on the camp should be submitted to management one week after camp is over and includes                                                    1.   Photos                                                    2.   Number of participants and volunteers                                                    3.   Report on camp outcome Handicapped Child Sponsorship children who are no longer in need of sponsorship due to age, improved medical condition, or families better economic situation or lack of cooperation with PCRF staff must be identified on a monthly basis and inform the HCSPC monthly support of child’s medical needs must be monitored bi-annual letters and photos must be submitted to HCSPC photos must be clear showing the child (not studio photos) letters from family must be written by the family, not FW letters must not ask for more money or complain, but must thank the sponsor and update them on the welfare of the child letters and photos must be submitted two weeks before due date to donor (June 15 and December 15) Miscellaneous  Humanitarian Projects Locate recipients of individual support (i.e. eyeglasses, wheelchairs, medicine....) and  identify as deserving medically and economically of care and not past recipients of such support complete reports on each child with photo must be submitted to management within two weeks of the date of completion of the specific project Administrative Responsibilities maintain equipment and report to Lebanon Coordinator (LC) its condition Maintain patient records follow standard filing system ensure that filing systems are maintained and up to date define procedures for record retention ensure protection and security of patient files and records ensure effective transfer of files and records to management or replacement provide complete and comprehensive financial expense reports on monthly basis to LC submit requests for vacation days not less than three weeks before start date HR cannot be at the same time as medical mission to area sick days exceeding three days must be substantiated by doctor’s report to Human Resources   Team interaction All communication must be respectful, open and professional with volunteers, staff and donors Internal Duties Keeping all work organized and records assessable and confidential Communication Channels Reporting to the MedicalMissions Coordinator on medical missions (Palestine) and issues related to work, coordination on patients and families with the Patient Affairs Coordinator, and the administrative issues with the Lebanon Coordinator. Minimum Skill Requirements Degree in Social Work Minimum 2 years experience Fluency in using word/excel & PowerPoint Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new systems
