Peace of Art is a non-governmental organization dedicated to empowering youth and communities through arts, sports, education, and psychosocial support. As part of our expanding youth engagement programs in North Bekaa, we are seeking a dynamic and committed Sports Trainer for Female participants ages 15 - 25 to lead weekly in-person training sessions in our center in Ain, Baalbeck-Hermel.

Position Summary

The Sports Trainer will be responsible for planning, leading, and evaluating engaging and inclusive sports sessions in basketball, football, and volleyball for youth aged 18 to 28. The ideal candidate is energetic, inclusive, experienced in youth training, and passionate about using sports as a tool for empowerment, teamwork, and social cohesion.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and deliver structured sports training programs for basketball, football, and volleyball, tailored to suit youth aged 18–28 with diverse skill levels and backgrounds.
  • Develop a comprehensive training curriculum including weekly lesson plans, goals, and progression metrics.
  • Conduct pre- and post-assessments to track the participants’ development and provide clear feedback.
  • Focus on holistic development, including technical skills, tactical understanding, physical conditioning, and mental resilience.
  • Promote positive communication and teamwork using non-violent communication strategies to break social, gender-based, and cultural barriers among participants.
  • Utilize performance evaluation tools and observational techniques to monitor progress and adapt sessions accordingly.
  • Foster an inclusive and safe environment for participants regardless of religion, gender, or nationality.
  • Maintain regular documentation and reporting on attendance, progress, challenges, and recommendations.
  • Work collaboratively with Peace of Art staff, coordinators, and psychosocial support teams to ensure integration of sports with broader program goals.
  • Encourage discipline, respect, and commitment through role-modeling and interactive activities.
  • Ensure equipment is well-maintained and safely used.
  • Be present in-person on a weekly basis at Peace of Art’s space in Ain, Baalbeck-Hermel.

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • 4 to 6 years of proven experience as a sports trainer, coach, or physical education specialist.
  • Demonstrated experience in training youth and managing group dynamics.
  • Solid knowledge of training methodologies, warm-up/cool-down routines, and injury prevention techniques.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire young people.
  • Familiarity with inclusive and trauma-informed approaches is highly desirable.
  • Ability to develop training materials and reports in Arabic (English is a plus).
  • Must be based in or near Fakiha, Ain, Labwe, or Ras Baalbeck.
  • Ability to manage groups with diverse cultural, religious, and gender backgrounds with sensitivity and professionalism.
  • First Aid certification is a plus.
