Communication Consultant

 

Project Title: Dealing with the Past - Reconciliation of the Memory of War

 

Position: Communication consultant

Sector: Peacebuilding - Women Peace and Security

Funded by: UN Women

Location: Lebanon- 6 Locations to be determined

 

Level of effort:

  • 40 to 60 days (Intermittent) over 23 months

 

  1. Duties and Responsibilities:

 

    1. Communication Strategy Development:

 

Work collaboratively with project stakeholders to develop a comprehensive communication strategy aligned with project goals and objectives.

Identify key target audiences and tailor communication approaches to effectively reach and engage diverse stakeholders.

    1. Content Creation and Management:

 

Generate compelling content, including press releases, articles, blog posts, and social media updates, to showcase project activities and impact.

Manage and update the project's website and social media platforms regularly to ensure a consistent and impactful online presence.

    1. Media Relations:

 

Cultivate and maintain relationships with local, national, and international media outlets.

Act as the primary contact for media inquiries, interviews, and requests for information related to the project.

    1. Event Coordination and Public Relations:

 

Plan and execute public events, workshops, and conferences to promote the project and engage stakeholders.

Develop and maintain positive relationships with project partners, community leaders, and influencers.

    1. Monitoring and Evaluation of Communication Efforts:

 

Implement metrics to measure the effectiveness of communication strategies and adjust approaches based on performance data.

Regularly report on communication activities to project leadership and stakeholders.

 

  1. Qualifications and Skills:

 

Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field.

Proven experience in developing and implementing communication strategies for projects, preferably in the field of peacebuilding, reconciliation, or social impact.

Strong writing and editing skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas in a clear and engaging manner.

Proficiency in using various communication channels, including social media, websites, and traditional media.

Excellent interpersonal and networking skills.

 

  1. Reporting:

 

The Communication Specialist will report directly to Project Manager.
