Key Responsibilities
- PROMOTE the vision and mission of Peace Labs while complying with the applicable laws and PL’s values
- Oversee and report on the organization’s results for Board of Directors
- Establish goals, objectives, and operational plans in collaboration with the Board of Directors, staff, and other members of the organization
- Communicate effectively with the Board by providing members with all information necessary to continually function properly and make informed decisions in a timely and accurate manner
- Attend Board Meetings and provide required reporting on operations and projects
- Implement PL’s Policies & Procedures approved by the Board
- Perform general management duties ensuring the successful operations of the organization
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the organization and ensure its overall sustainable long-term operations (Finance & Accounting, Human resources, Procurement, Legal, etc.)
- Coordinate and assist the External Auditor with the financial statements reporting
- Provide leadership in developing program, organizational, and financials plans in line with the Board Directions and with the support of the Senior Peacebuilding Expert
- Drive and pro-actively pursue funding opportunities for PL’s projects to ensure the organization’s financial sustainability
- Lead PL’s Projects Coordination, Stakeholder Management, Quality Assurance of the deliverables, Budget performance, Schedule, etc.
- Actively engage in fiscal management through hands on budgetary development and oversight; routinely report performance and financial activities to the Board
- Chair / participate in relevant management committees as and when required
- Provide thoughtful executive leadership to PL’s team, reflecting the organization’s values
- Promote a collaborative working environment and encourage personal professional developments
- Communicate effectively with the team members at PL and act as a liaison between the staff and the Board to ensure alignment among respective stakeholders
- Organize, motivate, and mentor internal team leaders to strategically grow the organization’s projects and impact
- Apply innovative thinking and performance measurements to analyze and support strategic decision-making
- Represent effectively PL and promote a positive organizational image to ensure adequate community representation
- Contribute to strengthening of PL’s reputation as a prominent peacebuilding organization
- Ensure that PL maintains supportive and mutually accountable relationships with stakeholders
KEY AUTHORITIES
- Approve Project/Program Plans
- Approve appointment of project staffing up to Project Managers in line with the Hiring Policies & Procedures
- Jointly Approve with the Board the appointment of Program Managers and Finance Manager
- Approve project invoicing
- Approve project related procurement in line with the budget
- Approve budget overruns up to 3% (in line with the budgeted contingency)
- Approve budget transfer within the same line/chapter
- Approve project deliverables
- Approve PL’s consultants’ payments in line with the project budget
Experience
- Proven track record as a successful leader of a nonprofit organization
- Strong background in program development and management
- Proven abilities in budget/financial management
- Experience in creating and establishing clear, measurable goals
- Experience in developing and implementing organizational strategies
- Previous experience working for a Peacebuilding organization or on a peacebuilding project
- In-depth understanding in Peace and Conflict Resolution
