Job purpose
Partners for Democratic Change International (PDCI) and PeaceLabz are looking for a full-time Project Coordinator to support the EU funded project “Establishing conflict resilient communities in the North of Lebanon”. Are you an enthusiastic, experienced individual and willing to travel from time to time to the North? Then we would be happy to meet you. The project “Establishing conflict resilient communities in the North of Lebanon” is jointly achieved by PDCI and PeaceLabz. The Project Coordinator will join the Team at PeaceLabz in Beirut and report to PDCI.
PDCI is an international non-governmental association, based in Belgium. It is a global partnershipof nineteen independent, local organizations in Europe, the Americas and the Middle East thatwork to advance civil society, good governance and a culture of change and conflict managementworldwide.
PeaceLabz is a non-governmental organization, who's vision is to transform conflicts non violently.The Team is based in Lebanon and in order to empower Lebanese communities to address conflictsand to prevent violence, they work closely with local leaders, community based organizations andinternational donors.
Key responsibilities
Program planning and management
Provide leadership, direction and guidance of the EU project activities
Oversee the planning, implementation and evaluation of the EU project.
Monitor the day-to-day delivery of the EU project with the staff, community members and consultants.
Provide monthly updates for the project partners and the PeaceLabz Board
Write narrative and financial reports
Recruit, interview and select consultants and support their activities
Provide support and assistance to PeaceLabz Team, invite and chair monthly Team meetings
Analyze, reflect and evaluate with the team members the effectiveness of the EU project and ensure that it is publicized.
Financial planning and management
Work with staff and mainly the financial officer to prepare a comprehensive financial report that strictly follow the EC project management and financial regulations guidance and procedures
Approve expenditures and ensure that accounting procedures are followed by the team members and Assist the PDCI team in auditing process in the end of the project
Establish good and collaborative working relationships with community groups, funders, and other organizations.
Helping the technical advisory committee in designing framework for collecting data during the mapping phase and the project implementation.
Coordinate trust building visits to the communities and facilitate the identification of 2 localities and follow up contacts with key individuals in a given locality
Establish a coaching process to train, follow up and maintain a constant evaluation for the EU program with the technical advisory committee, community members and staff members.
Discuss findings and recommendations arising from field staff and adjust the process of the project accordingly.
Prepare and organize activities with the participants such as trainings, workshops, public forums
Ensure with the team members a very good documenting process of the different steps of the EU project
Promote the project among NGOs and local and central authorities and maintain regular communication with project participants and municipalities an provide necessary support for project activities
Qualifications and skills
Ability to delegate and monitor a lively project environement
A successful track record in setting priorities, shaping processes, guiding investment in people and systems,
Able to work effectively to meet deadlines and goals team player with a flexible and creative approach
Very good communication skills
Being flexible, persistent and firm when necessary
Conflict resolution skills and having positive attitude when a conflict arises
