Première Urgence - Aide Médicale Internationale (PU-AMI) is a non-profit, non-political and non-religious humanitarian NGO. Its objective is to provide a comprehensive response, in line with humanitarian principles and applying both needs based and rights based approaches, to conflict affected populations. PU-AMI promotes humanitarian access and dialogue with all components of the civil society and reinforces the capacity of each vulnerable community (refugees, vulnerable host community) to become self-reliant and resilient, by responding to immediate needs and strengthening their socio-economic empowerment.
Today, PU-AMI is intervening in 21 countries in Africa, the Near East, Caucasus, Asia and the Caribbean to cover the needs of populations affected by conflict, natural disasters or economic crises.
PU-AMI in Lebanon has been implementing emergency and recovery projects in Shelter, Protection, Health including mental health and psychosocial (MHPSS) interventions.
Job Description:
1- GENERAL OBJECTIVE
The Emergency Daily Worker provides immediate operational support during emergency responses in collective shelters and affected communities in Baalbeck-Hermel. The role requires flexibility, rapid deployment, and the ability to perform various field tasks, particularly during escalations or sudden displacement situations.
2- RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS
- Distribution Support
- Support the distribution of Non-Food Items (NFIs) and other emergency supplies in collective shelters and affected communities.
- Organize and manage distribution points to ensure orderly, safe, and efficient service delivery.
- Assist in crowd control and beneficiary verification as per organizational procedures.
- Ensure proper documentation of distributed items and beneficiary signatures.
- Assessment & Data Collection
- Conduct rapid needs assessments in shelters and host communities.
- Collect household-level data using PUI tools (paper-based or digital, as applicable).
- Accurately fill in assessment forms, distribution sheets, and reporting templates.
- Report urgent protection or humanitarian concerns to the supervisor.
- Reporting & Documentation
- Document field observations, damages, priority needs, and service gaps.
- Provide daily verbal and written updates to the Field Officer.
- Ensure timely submission of completed forms and data collection tools.
- Community Engagement & Coordination
- Provide basic information and guidance to affected individuals regarding available services.
- Communicate effectively with community members, local authorities, and team members.
- Maintain respectful and professional conduct at all times.
- Emergency Response Support
- Be immediately available for deployment upon request, particularly during escalations.
- Support other emergency activities as required (e.g., shelter support, basic logistics tasks).
- Work under challenging and high-pressure conditions when necessary.
- Other Duties and Cross-Cutting Responsibilities
- Promote and mainstream protection, gender, age, and diversity principles in all interventions.
- Ensure confidentiality, ethics, and the highest professional standards in all actions.
- Adhere to security protocols and report concerns to the line manager.
- Support other duties as requested by the supervisor and in alignment with project needs.
- Ensure compliance with internal Codes of Conduct, PU-AMI guidelines, and national/international MHPSS standard

5- Job Requirements:
MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS
Language Skills: Fluent in Arabic and Intermediate in English (speaking/ reading/ writing).
Education Degree: High school diploma or equivalent (university degree is an asset).
Work experience: Previous experience in emergency response, humanitarian work, distributions, or data collection is desirable.
Computer skills: Basic and ability to accurately complete forms and reports.
Other requirement
- Familiarity with Baalbeck-Hermel context and communities is highly preferred.
- Ability to work under pressure and in unstable security situations.
- Immediate availability upon request.
- Physical fitness and ability to lift and carry relief items when required.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Other knowledge: Acquaintance with INGO' rules, procedures, regulations and humanitarian principles

PUI-AMI Employment Conditions and Benefits:
Status: Daily Worker (On-Call basis)
A maximum of 9 days per month.
Location: Baalbek-Hermel Governorate (Baalbeck & Hermel Districts).
Wage: 50 USD per day
