                        PREMIERE URGENCE – AIDE MEDICALE INTERNATIONALE (Lebanon)   JOB DESCRIPTION Position:                               Field Officer   Based in:                              Saida (with daily trips surrounding Saida and Palestians camps) Supervised by:                   Shelter Supervisor Starting date:                       ASAP   Project background information   Première Urgence - Aide Médicale Internationale (PU-AMI) is a non-profit, non-political and non-religious humanitarian NGO. Its objective is to bring about a global response to the basic needs of populations suffering from acute humanitarian crisis and to allow them to recover their autonomy and dignity. Today, PU-AMI is intervening in 19 countries in Africa, the Near East, Caucasus, Asia and the Caribbean to cover the needs of populations affected by conflict, natural disasters or economic crises. PU-AMI has been active in Lebanon since 2001 implementing emergency and recovery projects in Water, Sanitation and Hygiene, in Shelter Rehabilitation and in Livelihood Recovery sectors. PU-AMI is currently working in a Shelter and Wash projects in the Palestinian camps and gatherings in Ain el Helweh camp and gatherings, Borj el Barajneh Gathering, in project funded by the European Commission Humanitarian Aid Office (ECHO).   PU-AMI has launched a project in support of the areas affected by Syrian refugees’ influx in Beirut,Chouf and Saida areas. The project includes sealing off, sanitation facilities upgrading, and Hygiene promotion campaign, filter distribution and winterization activities. This project is funded by the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR).   PU-AMI has also launched a project in support of the areas affected by Syrian refugees’ influx in Beirut, Mount Lebanon (El Matn, Baabda, Aley and Chouf Districts) and South (Saida District) governorates. The project includes food vouchers distributions and impact assessment surveys. This project is funded by the World Food Program (WFP).     General Requirements:   Obligatory   qualifications   -            Language Skills: Fluent in Arabic, basic level in English  (speaking/reading/writing). -            Education Degree: Baccalaureate/University degree in the related fields.   -            Work experience: Proven experience   in NGOs is an asset. -            Computer   skills: Good   knowledge of the MS office software including Word, Excel, Power Point.    Other: Good knowledge of   the Saida, Beirut and Chouf district geography, willing to travel a lot   locally and valid driving license is a plus; Excellent   communication and diplomacy skills to manage relationship in potentially   tense situations; Literacy in reporting, and experience in conducting   surveys. Capacity and experience   in working in unsafe environments Great mobility and   willingness to work  at field level     Wished qualifications   Experience in the   social/humanitarian field   Basic or intermediate   shelter/construction technical background is an asset   Conflict resolution and diplomacy   experience   Understanding of the political   situation in the area   Reliability   Ability to take initiative to deal with difficulties encountered in   daily work;   Capacity   to work in an multidisciplinary and multicultural team   Ability to adapt or change priorities according to the changing   situation within a mission or the organisation itself;   Well organized;   Hard worker;   Able to manage stress and pressure;   Able to check information, logical;   Neutral;   Objectives The field officer implements and   monitors the shelter rehabilitation, sanitation facilities upgrading, and   kits distribution activities on the field level, under coordination of the   management staff. He/she also will conduct surveys, fill relevant documents,   evaluate, assess, and report on vulnerable conditions. The position requires extensive local   travels and thorough community work.   Tasks and   Responsibilities    Participate in the identification of potential        project beneficiaries through the needs assessment in the targeted area        according to the project criteria.    Implement a detailed (PRE/POST) assessment of each        selected beneficiary need for winterization and sanitation facility        upgrading.    Daily visit to units under rehabilitation to assess        quality and quantity of work done.    Conduct surveys using specific formats    Ensure timely distribution of the materials to the        beneficiaries, with continues monitoring of proper use.    Be in regular and direct contact with beneficiaries    Ensure field level monitoring of the quality of all        works implemented within the scope of the project.    Contributes to work related reports    Report immediately on achievements or difficulties        faced to the direct supervisor    Participate in the implementation of the project        impact survey.   Participate in identification and referrals of special   hardship cases during the life cycle of the project.   Accomplish   any other tasks assigned by supervisor     How to apply?   Please send your resume and a cover letter (with title of the position in the subject line) to: Contact person:                Mohamad Mezian Email address:                  lib.pm-shelter.sai@pu-ami.org
