Field Officer Wash

                                                         Field Officer WASH   Première Urgence - Aide Médicale Internationale (PU-AMI) is a non-profit, non-political and non religious humanitarian NGO. Its objective is to bring about a global response to the basic needs of populations suffering from acute humanitarian crisis and to allow them to recover their autonomy and dignity.   Today, PU-AMI is intervening in 21 countries in Africa, the Near East, Caucasus, Asia and the Caribbean to cover the needs of populations affected by conflict, natural disasters or economic crises.   PU-AMI in Lebanon has been implementing emergency and recovery projects in Water, Sanitation and Hygiene, in Shelter Rehabilitation, Health and in Livelihood Recovery sectors.                 POSITION GENERAL INFORMATION   Position: Field Officer Component: Wash Based in: Halba, Akkar Starting date: ASAP Duration: 6 Months (extendable if funding secure)   Supervision   Under the direct supervision of:          Wash Team Leader Under the indirect supervision of:      Wash Project Manager Supervision of:                                                    Daily workers, Community members, contractors and volunteers Under the overall supervision of:        Field Program Coordinator     OVERALL MISSION   General objective   Under the direct supervision of the WASH Team Leader, the WASH Field Officer is responsible for the qualitative, quantitative and timely implementation of all Water Supply, Sanitation and Hygiene activities. He/she directly supervise the construction of infrastructure, organize distributions and hygiene sessions with the intervention of contractors and help of beneficiaries, volunteers or daily workers.         Responsibilities and tasks   Activities implementation -          Supervise the installation and construction of infrastructures by respecting the design and required quality of the            works (technical specifications and methodology); -          Organize the distribution of kits; -          Organize community participation on site, hygiene promotion sessions, recreational activities for children,            cleaning campaigns and KAP surveys; -          Follow the security rules to ensure security on-site; -          Provide technical guidance to daily workers, volunteers and Community members.   Monitoring & Guidance -       Monitor the works on a daily basis and provide technical guidance to all Field Officers and Field Workers. -       Check the contractors' interventions are achieved regarding the requirements of the contract. -       Manage and organize the community participation on-site.   Logistics & administration -       Contribute to the logistics and financial planning of daily intervention schedules. -       Ensure the follow-up and the proper use of materials and tools used during on-site works; -       Manage the supply and distribution of relief items in collaboration with the logistics department.   Reporting -       Collect all information and written/orally reports on the progress of WASH activities on a daily and weekly basis; -       Report immediately any delay, problem or other relevant information to the WASH Team Leader.   The tasks and responsabilities defined in this job description are not exhaustive and can evolve depending on the project needs.     QUALIFICATIONS     Mandatory requirements   Language skills: Fluent in English & Arabic Education degree: On-site training/Baccalaureate degree in water supply, sanitation, infrastructures, construction works, health, social or medical sciences Work experience: 1 year experience in a similar position (NGOs/private companies) in WASH fields Computer skills: Basic knowledge of the MS office software including Word, Excel Other: -          Valid driving licence (for more 1 year minimum) -          Intermediate knowledge in one of the WASH pillar -          Good management and pedagogical skills -          Good knowledge of North Governorate, willing to travel a lot locally and valid driving license -          Excellent communication and diplomacy skills to manage relationship in potentially tense situations
