Health Field Officer

General objective Under the direct supervision of Health Program Manager, the Health Field Officer is responsible for providing quality information and health education and hygiene promotion to beneficiaries for disease prevention and increasing their access to healthcare, while respecting PU-AMI’s overall principles. Moreover, he/she will be responsible for monitoring, information gathering and reporting of the beneficiaries health status, with a focus on the early indentification of communicable diseases.   Responsibilities and tasks  Activities implementation -         Participate in the identification of potential project for beneficiaries in the targeted areas -         Participate in health-related needs assessments -         Conduct surveys using specific formats, according the guidance of the Health Program Manager -         Participate in the implementation of the project impact survey -         In collaboration with the Public health Team, Health Project Manager and Health coordinator, participate in the creation and dissemination of IEC (Information, Education, Communication) material -         Implement community based surveillance system activities as per guidance of the Heatlh Project Manager -         Ensure the dissemination of information about the referral system to the beneficiaries -         Participate in the organization of health awareness activities in the health facilities and communities -         Ensure field level monitoring of the health education related activities -         Respect the confidentiality of the beneficiaries -         Any other activity related to the implementation of the health program requested by the line manager  Reporting & Follow-up -           Be in regular and direct contact with beneficiaries, collect complaints and suggestions -           Contribute to work related reports -           Report orally on the progress of the public health activities on a daily and weekly basis -           Report immediately any delay, problem or other relevant information to the  Program Manager -           Immediately report any potential outbreaks to the Program Manager.    QUALIFICATIONS   Mandatory requirements  Language Skills: Fluent in English and Arabic, Education Degree: University degree health-related field preferred  in Nursing Work experience: Proven experience in NGOs Computer Skills: Excellent knowledge of the MS office software including Word, Excel, Outlook Other requirements -          Valid driving license (2 years minimum) -          Good knowledge of Saida geography, willing to travel a lot locally -          Excellent communication (especially in public) and diplomacy skills to manage relationship in potentially tense situations -          Literacy in reporting, experience in conducting surveys   Assets Interest: Work in relief, interest for social issues  Transversal skills -          Strong motivation to help people in need -          Conflict resolution and diplomacy experience -          Understanding of the political situation in the area -          Reliability -          Ability to take initiative to deal with difficulties encountered in daily work -          Capacity to work in an multidisciplinary and multicultural team -          Ability to adapt or change priorities according to the changing situation within a mission or the organization itself -          Ability to analyze and suggest improvements of the activities -          Well organized and hard worker -          Able to manage stress and pressure -          Ability to remain neutral
