PU-AMI has been active in Lebanon since 2001 implementing emergency and recovery projects in Water, Sanitation and Hygiene, in Shelter Rehabilitation and in Livelihood Recovery sectors. PU-AMI is currently working in a Shelter and Wash projects in the Palestinian camps and gatherings is Saida. Moreover, PU-AMI is conducting several projects in support of the areas affected by Syrian refugees’ influx in the North governorate, in Beirut, Mount Lebanon (El Metn, Baabda, Aley and Chouf districts) and South (Saida district) Governorates. The projects include rehabilitation works, water, sanitation and hygiene-related assistance, community services and food vouchers distributions. These projects are funded by the Humanitarian Aid and Civil protection department of the European Commission (ECHO), the United Nations High Committee for Refugees (UNHCR) and the World Food Program (WFP). The UNHCR-funded project in support of the areas affected by Syrian refugees’ influx in Beirut, Mount Lebanon and Saida areas conducted by PU-AMI contains, among others, a health component, which consists in the implementation of a referral system in Mount Lebanon governorate. General objective In collaboration with the health team, the Pharmacist is responsible for ensuring an efficient management of the pharmacy in the health facilities supported, respecting the medical procedures established in the framework of the project, as well as PU-AMI overall principles, in order to provide quality health services to Syrian refugees. Responsibilities and tasks  Support and monitor the pharamceutical management of the health facilities supported - Provide technical support for the implementation and management of the medical activities implemented in the framework of the referral system - In coordination with the Health Supervisor and the Medical Doctor, evaluate the needs of the health facilities in terms of training, supply, etc. - Monitor and make recommandations concerning hygiene and waste management in the health facilities - Ensure, in collaboration with the entire Health team, that drugs are provided with respect of the prices agreed upon by PU-AMI and the partner health care structures - Ensure an accurate follow-up of the drugs consumption and the rational use of drugs by the partner health facilities, as well as analysis and reorientation, if necessary, in collaboration with the staff of the partner health care structures in charge of the pharmacy management and the Project Manager - Ensure that the drugs are bought following PU-AMI procedures, including quality assurance criteria - Propose the ways to update existing tools and procedures in collaboration with the Health Supervisor, Project Manager and Medical Coordinator - Analyze the needs of the beneficiaries in terms of access to medications  Capacity building - Support and train the staff of the partner health care structures in charge on the pharmacy management on the management of the pharmacy (buffer stock, average monthly cunsumption, drugs request, inventory…)  Data collection and reporting - In collaboration with the Medical Doctor, ensure a direct supervision of the medical data collection and reporting system implemented in the health facilities - In collaboration with the Medical Doctor, provide capacity builiding in terms of medical data collection to the health facilities, when necessary - Ensure the monthly monitoring and analysis of the indicators (internal and external) - Participate in writing of all required medical reports (for PU-AMI, donors, partners, etc) The tasks and responsabilities of the Pharmacist mentionned above are not thorough and may be subject to evolve depending on the needs PU-AMI may have.
