Première Urgence – Aide Médicale Internationale is a not-for-profit, non-political and non-religious NGO. The NGO’s objective is to bring about a global response to the basic needs of populations suffering from acute humanitarian crisis and to allow them to recover their autonomy and dignity.
PU-AMI’s involvement in the Syrian Crisis is strong, with a wide range of programs implemented in most of the countries affected by the conflict.
In Lebanon, PU-AMI intervenes in the areas of shelter and rehabilitation, infrastructure, food security and livelihoods, health, protection and psychosocial activities in three regions, namely the Akkar governorate,Beirut and Mount Lebanon Governorates, and Saida and Jezzine districts in the South Governorate.

OVERALL MISSION
General objective
Under the direct supervision of the Team Leader, the Psychosocial Support Field Officer is responsible for the qualitative, quantitative and timely implementation of the Psychosocial Support (PSS) and Education activities but especially the objectives linked to protection, community mobilization, individual case referral and awareness sessions.
The aim of the program is to implement a psychosocial approach in five public schools based on the participation of the children, parents and teachers.
S/he directly implements the activities. S/he builds a trustful relationship with the community, refers individual cases of specific needs and follows up on them, facilitates the community mobilization, provides awareness sessions, gathers information about protection and all other actors intervening in the site with the support of communities (focal points, pedagogic staff, local autorithies).
Responsibilities and tasks
1. Implementation of activities
- Organize, plan and implement all activities with the support of the team leader and the senior field officers in a timely manner, including : awareness raising sessions with the different targeted groups, community mobilization, PSS sessions, outclass activities, ad hoc events, etc.
- Respect the design (activity chart) and required methodology of the project;
- Respect the principles of humanitarian protection and confidentiality;
- Provide technical guidance and follow up for community members and pedagogic staff.
2. Monitoring & Guidance
- Monitor the protection environment on a weekly basis and provide guidance to parents, pedagogic staff and children;
- Ensure the best educational/psychosocial activity practices and standards;
- Support the monitoring and assessment needed for the implemented activities;
- Participate in the weekly meetings with the PSS team and partner(s).
3. Communication & Follow up
- Ensure proper communication and coordination with the school directors and targeted groups about the project and the activities;
- Be present on different sites and respond to beneficiaries’ queries with good knowledge of relevant information;
- Identify special cases which need individual or specific attention and refer them to the Team Leader.
- Ensure a proper follow-up on the refferal cases with the concerned individuals and different stakholders;
- Promote successful and strong relationship with other NGOs, community leaders, municipalities,., to ensure good coordination and a proper support service provision and program activities;
- Attend trainings and assist in organizing trainings as required.
4. Reporting
- Provide oral and written reporting on the progress of PSS/Education activities on a daily and weekly basis to the Team Leader;
- Report immediately any delay, problem or other relevant information to the Team Leader.

QUALIFICATIONS
Mandatory requirements
Ø Language skills: Fluent in Arabic and very good in English
Education degree: On-site training in protection or child protection, psychology, education, social work or social sciences
Work experience: 2 years of experience in a similar position (NGOs/private companies) in protection, social work or education fields
Computer skills: Good knowledge of Microsoft Office
Other:
- Good knowledge in protection (espacially child protection), community mobilization, pedagogic support and education, social works
- Excellent communication and animation skills with adults and especially with children
- Effective stress management
- Ability to work under pressure and with short deadlines
- Good problem solving skills
- Good knowledge of Akkar Governorate
- Excellent ability to work in a team
- Valid driving license is an asset
