                                                                                 Shelter Field Officer Deadline for applications: 15th of August 2013                                     Première Urgence - Aide Médicale Internationale (PU-AMI) is a non-profit, non-political and non religious humanitarian NGO. Its objective is to bring about a global response to the basic needs of populations suffering from acute humanitarian crisis and to allow them to recover their autonomy and dignity.   Today, PU-AMI is intervening in 22 countries in Africa, the Near East, Caucasus, Asia and the Caribbean to cover the needs of populations affected by conflict, natural disasters or economic crises.   PU-AMI has been active in Lebanon by implementing emergency and recovery projects in Water, Sanitation and Hygiene, Shelter Rehabilitation, Food Security  and in Livelihood Recovery sectors.   OVERALL MISSION   General objective   The Shelter field officer implements and monitors the shelter rehabilitation, sanitation facilities upgrading, and kits distribution activities on the field level, under coordination of the management staff. He/she also will conduct surveys, fill relevant documents, evaluate, assess, and report on vulnerable conditions.   Responsabilities and tasks     -      Participate in the identification of potential project beneficiaries through the needs assessment in the targeted area according to the project criteria. -      Implement a detailed (PRE/POST) assessment of each selected beneficiary need for winterization and sanitation facility upgrading. -      Daily visit to units under rehabilitation to assess quality and quantity of work done. -      Conduct surveys using specific formats -      Ensure timely distribution of the materials to the beneficiaries, with continues monitoring of proper use. -      Be in regular and direct contact with beneficiaries -      Ensure field level monitoring of the quality of all works implemented within the scope of the project. -      Contributes to work related reports -      Report immediately on achievements or difficulties faced to the direct supervisor -      Participate in the implementation of the project impact survey. -      Participate in identification and referrals of special hardship cases during the life cycle of the project. -      Accomplish any other tasks assigned by supervisor   The tasks and responsabilities of the Shelter Field Officer mentionned above are not thorough and may be subject to evolve depending on the needs PU-AMI may have.   Supervision   Ø Under the direct supervision of: Shelter Supervisors Indirect supervision of: / Under the overall supervision of: Shelter Project Manager
