Wash Field Officer

PREMIERE URGENCE   AIDE MEDICALE INTERNATIONALE -         LEBANON    -                                                            Field Officer   Première Urgence - Aide Médicale Internationale (PU-AMI) is a non-profit, non-political and non religious humanitarian NGO. Its objective is to bring about a global response to the basic needs of populations suffering from acute humanitarian crisis and to allow them to recover their autonomy and dignity.   Today, PU-AMI is intervening in 21 countries in Africa, the Near East, Caucasus, Asia and the Caribbean to cover the needs of populations affected by conflict, natural disasters or economic crises.   PU-AMI in Lebanon has been implementing emergency and recovery projects in Water, Sanitation and Hygiene, in Shelter Rehabilitation, Health and in Livelihood Recovery sectors.                 POSITION GENERAL INFORMATION   Position: Field Officer Component: Wash Based in: Akkar   Supervision   Under the direct supervision of:         Wash Team Leader Under the indirect supervision of:     Wash Project Manager Supervision of  :                                          Daily workers, Community members,                     contractors and volunteers Under the overall supervision of:       Field Coordinator       OVERALL MISSION   General objective   Under the direct supervision of the WASH Team Leader, the WASH Field Officer is responsible for the qualitative, quantitative and timely implementation of all Water Supply and Sanitation activities. He/she directly supervises the construction of infrastructure, organizes distributions and hygiene sessions with the intervention of contractors and the help of beneficiaries, volunteers or daily workers.       Responsibilities and tasks   Activities implementation -          Supervise the installation and construction of infrastructures by respecting the design and required quality of the works (technical specifications and methodology) -          Organize the distribution of kits -          Organize community participation on-site, hygiene promotion sessions, recreational activities for children, cleaning campaigns and KAP surveys -          Follow the security rules to ensure security on-site -          Provide technical guidance to Daily Workers, Volunteers and Community members   Communication & Follow-up -          To participate in the field work and respond to beneficiaries queries with good knowledge of relevant information -          To respond to donor requests for special cases which need individual attention, and follow their progress   Reporting -       Report orally on the progress of WASH activities on a daily and weekly basis -       Report immediately any delay, problem or other relevant information to the WASH Team Leader   The tasks and responsibilities defined in this job description are not exhaustive and can evolve depending on the project needs.   QUALIFICATIONS   Mandatory requirements   Language skills: Fluent in English and Arabic (reading/writing/speaking) Education degree: Baccalaureate degree, Plus on-site training in one of the following fields : water supply, sanitation, infrastructures, construction works, health, social or medical sciences Work experience: 1 year experience in a similar position (NGOs/private companies) in WASH fields Computer skills: N/A Other: -          Valid driving license (for 1 year minimum) -          Basic knowledge in one of the WASH pillars -          Good knowledge of North Governorate, willing to travel a lot locally
