Position: Sexuality hotline coordinator (full-time)
Start Date: Mid August 2016
Duration: 6 months (renewable for the year after)
We’re looking for a sexuality hotline coordinator with excellent organizational and outreach skills, basic research experience and core interest in working on body politics, gender, and sexuality (focus sexual and reproductive health).
What is the A project?
The A project is about seeking agency, alternatives and autonomy in sexuality, sexual health, and gender. The project aims to address people living in Lebanon, young and not so young, through its various programs. The project aims to work on sexuality, while looking at but not limiting the discussion to disease-prevention and violence, but also through a political, critical, yet affirmative and sex-positive framework.
Main Duties
This is an excellent opportunity for an energetic and flexible individual. Applicants will need great interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with individuals of diverse backgrounds and community organizations.
Applicants need not be experts in sexuality, gender, and/or health but preference goes to those who have experience in these domains. The position requires a range of skills and responsibilities, including but not limited to:
Create an outreach plan for the hotline in concordance with hotline counselors and volunteers
Coordinate the shifts of hotline counselor volunteers
Set up logistics of workshops/ trainings – pre and post
Coordinate logistics of group discussions and events
Meet with stakeholders and referral contacts
Update and expand referral pathways to sexual and reproductive health services
Coordinate with communications and creative team on content creation and hotline distribution materials
Documentation of project activities
Maintenance of documentation database
Create a monitoring and evaluative quality assurance system of the hotline
Set up evaluation retreats with hotline counselors
Prepare clear, concise and accurate reports.
Qualifications
MPH or MA degree in a social science discipline; applicants with a bachelors degree in a social sciences or medical sciences are also invited to apply
Demonstrated interest in human rights and social justice issues
Experience in working on sexuality and gender
Basics research skills to maintain and clean database
High level of independence and decision-making
Willingness to learn new skills and work under pressure at times
Fluent in Arabic written and spoken (either English or French proficiency is a plus)
Basic knowledge of windows office (excel, ppt, & word) and social media platforms.
While it’s not required, please mention if experienced in photoshop, wordpress, and/or blogging.

Circumstances
Willingness to sometimes work flexible hours or attend evening/week-end trainings (for which time off in lieu will be given)
Field visits take place in different parts of Lebanon
Priority will be given to women and gender non-conforming persons
Priority will be given to persons who have attended our politics of sexuality (also known as Sex & Society) retreats
