Media Officer (Photographer & Videographer)

Main Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement media and communication plan that supports the QRC’s projects, activities and interventions.
  • Provide comprehensive media coverage of projects, events, and humanitarian activities in coordination with the program and field teams.
  • Produce high-quality multimedia content including photos, videos, infographics, and human-interest stories for internal and external dissemination.
  • Draft press releases, social media posts, and other communication materials in Arabic and English.
  • Ensure timely and consistent visibility of Qatar Red Crescent's interventions across platforms.
  • Monitor local and regional media coverage of humanitarian activities, focusing on QRC’s activities.
  • Support the organization of press conferences, media briefings, and public events.
  • Be available to travel outside Beirut for field activities, as needed.
  • Ensure all communication outputs are aligned with QRC branding and donor visibility guidelines.
  • Submit periodic reports and documentation of media work.

Required Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Media, Journalism, or a related field.
  • At least 3–5 years of relevant professional experience in media with INGOs.
  • Proven experience in producing multimedia content and writing compelling stories.
  • Familiarity with humanitarian principles and the work of the Red Cross/Red Crescent Movement is an asset.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Arabic and English.
  • Proficiency in using photography (DSLR Cameras) and videography equipment.
  • Solid editing skills.
  • Ability to work independently while meeting deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and capacity to coordinate with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Flexibility and willingness to travel to field locations when required.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Creativity and attention to detail.

Other Conditions:

  • The media officer must be physically present in the Qatar Red Crescent office in Ain El Mreisseh, Beirut during the working days.
  • Deliverables are based on needs; the number of tasks is not fixed and will depend on QRC’s media requirements.
