HR and Operations Officer

The HR and Operations Officer plays a key role in both human resources and operational support, ensuring the smooth implementation of Red Oak’s activities. This position supports the Executive Director by managing day-to-day administrative and HR-related responsibilities.

The ideal candidate will be efficient, well-organized, discreet, and have strong interpersonal and communication skills. This role requires a high level of confidentiality in dealing with personnel and financial matters and a strong sense of initiative.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Operations

  • Support the development and implementation of policies and procedures across the organization.

  • Analyze and improve organizational processes and workflows.

  • Coordinate planning, logistics, documentation, and event support.

  • Ensure smooth internal communication through weekly staff updates.

  • Provide regular updates to the Executive Director on risks, challenges, and operational needs.

  • Ensure timely collection and consolidation of data for internal and external reports.

  • Communicate with partners and donors regarding program logistics, documentation, and relevant operational matters.

Human Resources

  • Support the recruitment and onboarding process for staff, freelancers, and volunteers.

  • Manage contracts and performance evaluations, ensuring all HR files are complete and securely stored.

  • Ensure staff are trained on Red Oak’s Code of Conduct, Child Protection Policy, and other internal policies.

  • Foster a positive work environment and team cohesion.

  • Maintain open lines of communication with staff and other stakeholders.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum 3 to 5 years of professional experience in HR, operations, or administration, preferably within an NGO or a similar organization.

  • Experience managing staff and working with international donors is an asset.

  • Solid understanding of procurement, HR, and office management.

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and problem-solve in a fast-paced environment.

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Strong organizational and time management skills.

  • Excellent written and spoken communication in English and Arabic. 

  • Good command of French (written and/or spoken) is a strong asset.

  • Proficient in MS Office and digital collaboration tools.

  • High attention to detail and follow-through.

  • Ability to multitask and meet deadlines.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative mindset.
