The training objectives and learning outcomes are:
- To increase the farmers know-how on:
- Good agricultural practices for vegetables (Disease and integrated pest management approach, fertilization, fertigation, usage of hormones, soil and weed treatment, cultivation and irrigation)
- Harvesting and post harvesting includes packaging and storage harvesting, and products handling before and after shipping
- Seed Cultivation
- To apply good agricultural practices in vegetables production for improved food safety
- To have a clear understanding on the best hygiene practices (farmers and transport)
- To have a clear understanding on the occupational safety and health in agriculture (including first aid care: animal bites, burns includes chemical and electrical burns, shock, severe bleeding, amputations/severed body parts, fractures and musculoskeletal injury)
- To have the basics of integrated pest management
- To know how to introduce safe products
- Optional: Technical support 3 months to support farmers after the training (2 coaching sessions for each farmer)
