Career Development Officer - Beirut

Essential Functions and Areas of Accountability:

  • Develop a comprehensive career counseling curriculum and provide training to the career development assistants on delivering the curriculum. T 
  • Monitor the delivery of group counseling sessions that will help individuals make informed career decisions.
  • Lead the mapping process to identify potential employers and apprenticeship opportunities in the targeted areas.
  • Assist and guide individuals through occupational exploration and the career decision-making process.
  • Determine appropriate assessments and interventions required to assist individuals in achieving their career goals.
  • Analyze and interpret career assessment results and incorporate in career counseling/job search coaching sessions
  • Engage individuals in resources for researching employers and current employment / Apprenticeship opportunities.
  • Monitor the implementation of apprenticeship program, accordingly, conducting weekly\monthly visits to the apprentices.
  • Ensure the career development assistant enroll apprentices in a placement that can continue providing opportunities to youth and women in a sustainable manner.
  • Develop apprenticeship program tools and standard operations procedures SOP following the livelihoods sector guidance.
  • Demonstrate a high level of professionalism while working or coordinating with the people we serve, farmers, and any internal or external party; any incident or work-related conflict should be immediately reported to the Manager.
  • Supervise three career development assistants and providing regular and timely performance feedback. 

 

  • The Job holder should avoid going into any work-related communication which might jeopardize the relationship of RI with any party.  
  • The job holder should demonstrate a high level of cultural sensitivity, professionalism, politeness, and objectivity when dealing with the people we serve and all internal/external parties under all circumstances. 


 

 

Work Coordination:

Internal direct reporting, dotted line work coordination and external coordination

The Job holder reports directly to the Livelihoods Program Coordinator

 

Span of control and decision making

The Job holder should take decisions related to the accountabilities and tasks outlined above while coordinating directly with the Livelihoods Program Coordinator Any decision beyond her/his realm or responsibility should be discussed with the Program Manager and the Program Coordinator.

 

Working Conditions / Operating Environment

The job holder will be part of the team members who will be located at the Beirut Office. However, frequent field visits to the Households and centers across Lebanon is an integral part of the job -description.
