Community Health Worker Supervisor - Bekaa

Tasks and responsibilities:

  • Conduct daily field visits to identify potential CHWs interested in participating in the project, with particular focus on their behavioral competencies and experience in engaging with vulnerable communities.
  • Supervise and monitor the daily work and performance of the CHWs by collecting their weekly reports efficiently, ensuring that their behavioral and technical skills align with the expectations of Relief International (RI) and are consistent with RI’s code of conduct.
  • Establish a connection between the CHWs and RI-supported health facilities, ensuring that vulnerable groups such as sick children, pregnant women, and others receive appropriate care at RI’s supported Primary Health Care (PHC) centers.
  • Strengthen the capacity of the CHWs to actively participate in the prevention and control of communicable diseases, safely identify and refer GBV survivors, address mental health concerns, and combat malnutrition within their communities.
  • Ensure that CHWs maintain professionalism in their interactions with beneficiaries, their families, and both internal and external parties. Any incidents or work-related conflicts should be promptly reported to the CHW Supervisor and Program Coordinator.
  • Guarantee that CHWs consistently demonstrate cultural sensitivity, professionalism, politeness, and objectivity when engaging with beneficiaries under all circumstances.

 

Awareness-related tasks and activities

  • Raise awareness among CHWs and communities on health promotion, focusing on early preparedness and response to outbreaks, as well as the transmission and prevention of common communicable diseases such as diarrhea, acute respiratory infections, and skin diseases.
  • Conduct structured training sessions on health and mental health topics, addressing the most prevalent issues faced by refugees. The CHW Supervisor must ensure accurate information is communicated to beneficiaries and that their questions and concerns are addressed effectively and efficiently.
  • Develop and distribute relevant public health education messages to encourage individuals, especially pregnant women and children, to seek early care for symptoms such as fever, cough, diarrhea, and malnutrition, while also providing guidance on accessing appropriate services.

  • Ensures that behavior inside and outside of work promotes the values in RI’s code of conduct and safeguarding policies  
  • Acts with integrity and holds themselves accountable for being respectful, inclusive, and professional 
  • Reports any concerns.
