As part of the Emergency Distribution Project, composed of 8,000 winterization kits for children aged 1 day to 14 years old in Informal Tented Settlements (ITS) in North Lebanon - T5 area (Tripoli, Batroun, Koura, Minyeh/Dinniyeh, Bcharri, Zgharta), the Mapping & Distribution Assistant will be responsible for the mapping of vulnerable families within designated project areas and for the distribution activities to these families afterwards.
The Mapping & Distribution Assistant will be based in Relief International's Office in Koura and is under the direct supervision of the Emergency Distribution Team Leader and reports directly to him
The tasks will include but not be limited to:
Main Responsibilities
Visits designated project areas on a daily basis as part of the distribution team.
Conducts mapping for targeted beneficiaries within the ITS's using designated mapping forms and techniques.
Makes sure that the mapping process is conducted as agreed upon with the Team Leader and the Project Coordinator for maximum mapping efficiency.
Submits the mapping results on a daily basis to the Team Leader.
Informs the Team Leader and the Monitoring & Evaluation Assistant about any specific remarks regarding the mapped areas and beneficiaries.
Ensures that all documents / surveys are handled with care and extreme confidentiality.
Makes sure the mapping activities are implemented as agreed upon with the Team Leader in a timely manner.
Ensures that the distribution activities are performed as agreed upon with the Team Leader and that no over lapping of mapping or distribution activities occurs.
Refers to the Team Leader on any decision making or modifications that alters the initial implementation process.
Works closely with the beneficiary community to ensure maximum efficiency of intervention.
Updates the Team Leader on a daily basis.
Informs the Team Leader on any shortage of project materials and supplies.
Represents the organization in a professional and respectful manner.
Ensures project activities are in compliance with RI policies.
Directly reports any security / field / office incidents to the Team Leader using relevant reporting procedures.
Ensures that all project activities and implementation procedures are conducted in a manner free of corruption or questionable practices.
Position requirements:
Previous experience in mapping interventions preferred.
Previous experience in distribution interventions preferred.
Previous experience in working with NGOs preferred.
Experience in working with vulnerable communities.
Dynamic and highly motivated.
Understands refugee contexts and is compassionate while working with refugees.
Native Arabic speaker.
Good reporting skills preferred.
Other related tasks as agreed upon with the Team Leader.
