Under the supervision of the Mental Health Coordinator, the MHPSS Technical Advisor is responsible for:
- The Job holder is expected to provide up to 2 face to face sessions per month in beirut, north and Bekaa
- Provide clinical advice, supervision and support for RI’s case-management teams including case managers, and Clinical psychologist.
- Support and advise on the efficient clinical practice of staff ensuring appropriate skill mix to promote the highest standard of service
- To discuss common cases between CM and therapist to ensure good coordination
- To discuss any suggestions and technical challenges (including challenges related to psychiatric patients) and find solutions.
- Review the action plan of the people followed by the CM, Clinical psychologist, and psychiatrist.
- Support the teams’ technical skills through cases discussions
- Support the teams’ technical skills through role play or any relevant technics
- Provide necessary training for RI MH staff (trauma therapy, CBT, NET, etc.) when requested
- Advocate on all mental health-related issues and/or concerns. Ensure the patient’s related information is kept confidential
- Provide monthly feedback to the Mental Health coordinator regarding the MHPSS team’s needs based on support and supervision sessions.
- Coordinate with the mental health coordinator on addressing the needs of the MHPSS team.
- To be able to follow the list and ask about the previous cases in order to prepare the most adequate care plans for them
- To agree with the CMs and therapist on the new cases to be referred to a therapist
Reporting and Documentation
- Conducts monthly reporting for the MH coordinator.
- Provide feedback when needed in developing quality control (appropriate methodologies, data collection techniques for assessments, indicators, and evaluations) of mental health specialized services interventions and community-based psychosocial activities
Miscellaneous
- Demonstrates a high level of professionalism while working or coordinating with the MH team. Any incident or work-related conflict should be immediately reported to the Mental Health Coordinator. The Job holder should avoid going into any work-related communication which might jeopardize the relationship of RI with any party;
- The job holder should demonstrate a high level of cultural sensitivity, professionalism, politeness and objectivity when dealing with the beneficiaries under all circumstances;
- The Job holder should be able to provide structured clinical assessment plans and develop consistent care plans.
- Under the supervision of the Mental Health Coordinator, discuss and resolve any issues that the Mental Health Team may face.
- Under the supervision of the Mental Health Coordinator, ensure the management of high-risk cases.
- Closely monitor the progress of the Mental Health team intervention with the beneficiaries.
- Experience working with NGOs is desirable.
