Midwife Supervisor - Bekaa

  • Provide regular supervision, guidance and support to midwives at RI’s supported PHCCs by conducting daily field visits.
  • Ensure effective implementation of antenatal care and postnatal care at facility and household level. Guarantee their compliance with national standards.
  • Follow-up on the one-to-one IYCF counselling sessions provided by midwives to pregnant, lactating women and caregivers of children under two-years of age throughout their field visits at household level or at the supported centers.
  • Make sure that necessary technical capacity building is provided to the midwives including IYCF 20-hour technical training, IYCF national SOP, ANC, PNC, growth monitoring and newborn care.
  • Organise for external training when needed; collect and submit MOVs to MEAL department accordingly.
  • Monitor the midwives’ quality of work and identify areas of improvement.
  • Conduct refresher sessions or on-the-job coaching to the midwives when needed.
  • Keep the direct supervisor well informed about the operational challenges faced and come up with solutions.
  • Follow-up on the data entry and reporting of the midwives’ activities on Phenics.
  • Supervise the collection of these reports from RI’s supported health facilities on a monthly basis.
  • Collaborate closely with the healthcare workers at the supported facilities and RI’s community health worker supervisor to ensure a good referral pathway.
  • Coordinate thoroughly with the centers’ management.
  • Participate in important meetings internally and/or externally as advised by the supervisor.
  • Ensure timely submission of the project’s reports.
