Work closely in coordination with the medical doctor
Conduct medical examinations, diagnosis and treatment of pregnant women and other female patients.
Strictly follow universal precautions performing their duties (gloves, clothes, disposal of medical waste, hand washing procedures)
Assess the psychological condition of patient and provide comprehensive care, establish a confidential relationship with patients, taking into consideration expectations and experiences of patients, create a confident environment, and assist patients by educating them on how to follow the ordered treatment.
Provide education on antenatal care, prenatal care, safe delivery and child spacing practices.
Conduct activities on prevention of complications of pregnancy, care during the postpartum period, general health education, behavior change and preventive measures against maternal mortality.
Perform screenings for pregnant patients and refer to the medical doctor if it is necessary.
Ensure that all sick pregnant patients get assistance according to standard treatment protocols.
Only in consultation with the medical doctor, if necessary, refer all patients with pregnancy complications to specialist in the maternity hospital.
Arrange transportation for those who are referred.
Provide training to mothers on correct breastfeeding techniques in private and respectful manner.
Provide education to community heath workers on the identification of common danger signs of pregnancy.
Responsible for the RI tent in her area, keep the work place clean and report and report any problem uncounted to the Senior Midwife.
Record and keep collected information on numbers of women seen per day and produce daily reports using data entry formats in tablets generated for standard reporting
Participate in all the activities of the mobile team in the refugees’ areas.
Participate in any activity as directed by the supervisor.
