About the Project
The Sustainable Fodder Production for Livestock Resilience in Akkar project, funded by the UN World Food Program and implemented by Relief International (RI), aims to enhance the resilience and livelihoods of small-scale livestock farmers in Akkar, North Lebanon. The project focuses on improving fodder production through land reclamation, developing irrigation infrastructure, and introducing high-nutritious animal feed and climate-resilient fodder crops. It also promotes gender equity and economic inclusion.
Project Summary
The Sustainable Fodder Production for Livestock Resilience in Akkar project, funded by the UN World Food Program and implemented by Relief International (RI), aims to enhance the resilience and livelihoods of small-scale livestock farmers in Akkar., North Lebanon. The project focuses on improving fodder production through land reclamation, developing irrigation infrastructure, and introducing high-nutritious animal feed and climate-resilient fodder crops. It also promotes gender equity and economic inclusion.
Position Summary:
Outreach Worker will be responsible for supporting, gathering, monitoring and collecting data needed to implement the project. The OW will be conducting site visits to three village in the Akkar region.
Important Note:
The applicant must possess the ability to travel independently between locations associated with the activities, using their own mode of transportation. (Villages targeted: Dawse, Kouachra and Ain El Zeit)
Essential Functions and Areas of Accountability:
- Mapping and outreach participants
- Register participants interested in the components/activities of the project
- Conduct visits to fill the baseline with farmers at the farm level
- Assist in distributing in-kind support items
- Conduct phone calls for data cleaning
- Filling attendance of participants on papers and tablets
- Observe and report to the supervisor any incidents occurring during the training
- Data entry upon request
- Support with the setup of the venue before and after the activity
- Assist with additional tasks as requested by the supervisor to the best interest of the project
Work Coordination
The job holder reports directly to the Livelihoods Field Officer. Under the supervision of the LFO, the job holder will have a dotted-line work coordination with the Livelihoods Field Assistant and Technical Field Assistant.
Decision Making
The Job Holder can take decisions solely related to her/his basic Outreach tasks and responsibilities in coordination with the LFO; any decisions beyond her/his realm of responsibility should be discussed with the direct supervisor.
