Pharmacist Assistant

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

Program Implementation-related deliverables

  • Provide technical support for the best practices management of the pharmacy in terms of storage and tracking of drug waste.
  • Manage the administration of medication for the patients and track stock availability using tally sheets in order to prepare procurement orders.
  • Follow up on the availability of tracer’s medications (to be specified by Health Program Coordinator) in the Primary Health Care Centres (PHCCs) and coordinate with the Health Program Coordinator on delivery of such medications to the centers in case of shortage.
  • Ensure that appropriate education and drug administration and dosing guidelines are available to guide medical, and nursing staff.
  • Evaluate the needs of Primary Health Care Centers in terms of training, supply chain, etc.
  • The job holder should demonstrate a high level of cultural sensitivity, professionalism, politeness and objectivity when dealing with the beneficiaries under all circumstances; 
  • The job holder must ensure data collection and reporting in an effective and efficient manner while emphasizing quality and accuracy at all times.
  • Coordinate with PHCs to ensure provision of chronic medication for patients enrolled within the YMCA network;

Actively participate in weekly staff meetings and submit reports on time

Qualifications and Skills Requirements 

Job Specifications: 
•    Bachelor in Pharmacy.
•    At least three years of related experience.
•    Commitment to beneficiary accountability and humanitarian ethics.
•    Ability to effectively communicate with beneficiaries, host population, PHCC staff and RI staff.
•    Have knowledge of all aspects of emergency health intervention in refugee settlements.
•    Knowledge of best practices for prevention, diagnostic and treatment methods.
•    Good report writing skills.
•    Excellent skills related to Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.).
