Capacity Building of Service Center Members And Cooperatives – Consultant

The Rene Moawad Foundation is lauching a call for proposal for the supply of Capacity Building of Service Center Members And Cooperatives – consultant under the projects “STRENGTHENING EXPORTS OF FRUITS AND VEGETABLES FROM LEBANON TO EUROPEAN AND REGIONAL MARKETS” – DUTCH.

The “STRENGTHENING EXPORTS OF FRUITS AND VEGETABLES FROM LEBANON TO EUROPEAN AND REGIONAL MARKETS” project is designed to support sustainable economic development by upgrading the export-enabling environment of 4 main agricultural value chains, support job employment and increase of exports of table grapes, avocados, cherries and potatoes to Europe and regional markets.

Capacity building of Cooperatives & Service Centers (12 Coops & SC) and its members have been selected to be included in the work plan. Interventions are planned in different geographical areas of Lebanon including:

• Al Shouf 1, Saida 1, Jezzine 1, Baalbek/AlHermel 2, West Bekaa 4, Zahle 2, Akkar 1

In order to increase the Cooperatives ‘management and its members’ knowledge in operating the business and managing inventory, the project will be working with a local consultant with expertise in Socio-Economic and Local Development to develop a series of on-site training for the different Cooperatives.  

The assignment within the SOW will include but not limited to the below tasks, to the beneficiaries identified by RMF:

1. Train service center and cooperatives’ members in drafting their operation and management plans.
2. Bookkeeping, Accounting, Budgeting and other financial concerns.
3. Detailed Equipment and Tools operation, maintenance and inventory logs
4. Equipment scheduling, management and rental
5. Cluster training for cooperative management
6. Training on relationship between the Cooperative’s board and members
7. Reproducing an updated business plan for the Coop

REPORTING AND WORKING RELATIONSHIP

The Socio-Economic and Local Development Consultant will report to, and receive overall policy guidance from the RMF DUTCH Project Manager. He / she shall work closely with the RMF DUTCH Project Manager together they will plan key implementation activities as required.

TITLE OF PROPERTY

All outputs produced by the Socio-Economic and Local Development Consultant under this Scope of Work, including, but not limited to data, materials, writings, reports, outlines, drafts, any other materials or deliverables, is the intellectual property of RMF.

PROFILE OF THE CONSULTANT

• Experience of 10 years minimum in economic studies or related field
• Experience of 3 years minimum in local development
• Excellent knowledge of the Lebanese economy
• Higher education in the field of economics, business, or related fields
• Demonstrable interest in economics and how economics addresses real world problems
• Analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to produce accurate facts, figures and reports
• Strong communication & interpersonal skills
• Excellent skills in written and spoken English and Arabic

TECHNICAL AND FINANCIAL PROPOSAL

The technical proposal shall include:

• Resume.
• Copy of ID card and the MOF personal number
• Brief methodology of how the deliverables will be approached and completed.
• List of proposed Plans and Templates (High Level)
• Reference list of similar outputs delivered.

The duration of the assignment will be fixed after reviewing the timeframe and the methodology. This Capacity Building mission will begin by the May 20, 2022. The final report has to be submitted by July 31, 2022.
