Electro-Mechanical / Mechanical Senior Engineer or Engineering Company for the Establishment of a Car Diagnostic Center - Beqaa

The Rene Moawad Foundation (RMF) is seeking an Electro-Mechanical / Mechanical Senior Engineer or Engineering Company to support the USAID-funded “Promoting Sustainable Livelihoods- PSL” Activity team establish a car mechanics center in its Beqaa Cluster.

PSL aims to improve the livelihoods of residents of target municipalities through training, technical assistance, infrastructure rehabilitation, and marketing and improve and upgrade existing assets in their municipalities. The PSL goal is to sustain the livelihoods of 31,500 households across seven clusters joining 130 municipalities in the North, Beqaa, South and Mount Lebanon areas (first phase).

Position Summary

The Electro-Mechanical / Mechanical Senior Engineer or Engineering Company will be technically supporting RMF/PSL team to ensure the design and execution of Construction works and installation of equipment for one of USAID/PSL interventions. He/she will also play an advisory role to PSL’s stakeholders in ensuring sustainability of these initiatives.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities

• Conduct field visits to the relevant project sites, as needed.
• Validate the types of car available in the designated area (Brand, Model….).
• Survey the needs of the tools for the car mechanics/ technicians.  
• Prepare a desk review based on Car Diagnostic Center existing facility locally or worldwide.
• Propose an adapted solution for the requested context.
• Design the work flow of the Car Diagnostic Center.
• Provide the list of equipment required for the Car Diagnostic Center.
• Provide the specifications of each equipment’s and the required utilities for each machine (in/out).
• Provide a preliminary design of the floor plan with the accurate measurements.
• Provide the electromechanical layouts with their elevation and section.
• Provide an estimated budget and BoQ
• Provide a technical feasibility study on the proposed solution.
• Review the offers submitted by the various vendors before the implementation
• Supervise the implementation of the technical components of the project contracted
• Ensure proper project implementation, full compliance with required standards and specifications

Qualifications and Skills Required:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electro-Mechanical Engineering.
• 10+ years professional experience in Car Mechanics.
• Worked previously on similar projects.
• Qualified in language and writing skills and ability to produce high quality professional reports, and technical summaries.
• Qualified presentation skills and ability to communicate to large audiences.
• Qualified people skills with ability to communicate effectively in person, verbally and in writing.
• Strong communication & leadership skills and the ability to organize and conduct meetings & workshops.
• Ability to work in the office and travel on-location.
• Mastery of computerized tools, specifically with Autocad, Microsoft Office software (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
• Fluent in English and Arabic.
• Previous experience with USAID- funded projects is a plus.
