Case Worker

The René Moawad Foundation has a zero tolerance to Sexual Exploitation and Abuse of beneficiaries.  Protection from Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA) is everyone’s responsibility and all staff are required to adhere to the Code of Conduct, that enshrines principles of PSEA, always (both during work hours and outside work hours).  Familiarization with, and adherence to, the Code of Conduct is an essential requirement of all staff, in addition to related mandatory training.  All staff must ensure that they understand and act in accordance with this clause.

Major Responsibilities: 

  • Identify vulnerable individuals (especially children or at-risk families) in need of protection or psychosocial support.
  • Conduct initial assessments and detailed case assessments to understand the child’s or family's needs, risks, and strengths.
  • Prioritize cases based on urgency and severity, using a standardized case management framework.
  •  Develop individualized case plans in collaboration with the child/family, ensuring their active participation.
  • Set clear, realistic goals and define steps for meeting protection and well-being needs.
  • Implement case plans through direct support, coordination with services, and regular follow-up.
  • Refer cases, where needed to additional appropriate services based on assessed needs.
  • Coordinate with other actors (NGOs, government agencies, community structures) to ensure the child or family receives comprehensive care.
  • Follow up to ensure services are delivered and that they meet the child’s best interest.
  • Conduct regular home or site visits to monitor the well-being and safety of the child or client.
  • Maintain a supportive, professional relationship with the child/family throughout the case management process.
  • Maintain confidential, accurate, and up-to-date documentation of all case management activities.
  • Use standard case management tools to track progress and outcomes.
  • Ensure case files are stored securely and access is limited to authorized personnel.
  • Apply the best interest of the child principle in all decision-making.
  • Ensure that children are protected from abuse, exploitation, neglect, and violence.
  • Report and respond to serious protection concerns following organizational SOPs and referral pathways.
  • Uphold organizational policies on confidentiality, child safeguarding, PSEA, and professional ethics.
  • Ensure accountability and a survivor-centered approach in all actions.

 

Professional Standards:

All RMF staff are required to adhere to the RMF policies and practices with respect to child protection minimum standards, code of conduct, health and safety, equal opportunities and other relevant policies and procedures.

Job Requirements:

  • University degree in Education, Social Sciences, Development Studies, or a related field.
  • Formal training in case management SOPs, child protection, GBV, or MHPSS is highly desirable
  • Experience in providing case management to high risk cases.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Sensitivity to cultural, gender, and protection issues.
  • Results-oriented, flexible, and adaptable.
  • High integrity and respect for confidentiality
