Eco-Tourism Consultant

Position summary: The eco-tourism expert will assist in designing trails, developing BOQs and supervising trails construction, the consultant will also be responsible of designing and supervising the implementation of outdoor activities and delivering trainings to local guides. Specific Duties and Responsibilities Review the design and maps for the trails submitted by the applicant Work with local community in trekking areas and mappings of the eco-trail when needed Submit an assessment plan for trails options to RMF when needed Coordinate with RMF engineers to submit executive maps for trail construction and access to sites. Provide technical guidance and support to the development, review and updates of the BOQ. Submit an operational plan for the trail when needed Develop a safety and security guidelines for visitors Deliver trainings to local community guides on effective guiding, ensuring proper preparations and precautions; safety and security, etc. Assist in the design of promotional materials and informative signs. Monitor and supervise the implementation activities related to eco-tourism.  Qualifications and skills required: Minimum of 5 years’ experience in implementing eco-tourism projects. Knowledge of Lebanese regulation and required procedures in the conservation and protection of natural resources. Experience in conducting eco-tourism training Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Communication and Reporting skills  About BALADI Program: The Building Alliance for Local Advancement, Development, and Investment (BALADI) program is a five-year USAID funded program that supports locally-generated socio-economic development projects throughout Lebanon. The BALADI program seeks to encourage service delivery by local governments through municipal projects that respond to citizens’ needs. It assists municipalities and communities that have collaborated together to prepare and well plan for livelihood improvement projects. In 2015, 22 new municipal projects were awarded USAID-BALADI funds to be implemented by René Moawad Foundation (RMF), among which are Eco-tourism related projects.
