Educators to provide Education in Emergencies

The René Moawad Foundation has a zero tolerance to Sexual Exploitation and Abuse of beneficiaries.  Protection from Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA) is everyone’s responsibility and all staff are required to adhere to the Code of Conduct, that enshrines principles of PSEA, always (both during work hours and outside work hours).  Familiarization with, and adherence to, the Code of Conduct is an essential requirement of all staff, in addition to related mandatory training.  All staff must ensure that they understand and act in accordance with this clause.

Major Responsibilities: 

  • Create physically and emotionally safe spaces for all learners, especially vulnerable groups (e.g., girls, children with disabilities, displaced students).
  • Promote inclusivity and non-discrimination.
  • Implement Child Protection principles and be alert to signs of abuse or trauma.
  • Adapt activities to meet learners' needs and context.
  • Use flexible and innovative delivery methods
  • Integrate psychosocial support (PSS) into classroom activities.
  • Use social-emotional learning strategies to help children cope with stress and trauma.
  • Refer children to specialized services when needed.
  • Act as a frontline protector—identify, respond to, or refer cases of abuse, exploitation, or neglect.
  • Help children catch up on missed schooling and transition back to formal education.
  • Monitor children’s progress and adapt strategies accordingly.
  • Uphold ethical standards and accountability.
  • Ensure girls and boys have equal opportunities to learn.
  • Recognize and remove barriers faced by marginalized learners.

 

 

Professional Standards:

All RMF staff are required to adhere to the RMF policies and practices with respect to child protection minimum standards, code of conduct, health and safety, equal opportunities and other relevant policies and procedures.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Child Development, Social Work, or a related field.
  • Additional certification or training in Education in Emergencies, Humanitarian Response, or Child Protection is highly desirable.
  • Minimum of 2 years of teaching experience, preferably in low-resource, crisis, or displacement-affected settings.
  • Experience with multi-grade, accelerated, or non-formal education is often required.
  • Prior experience working with vulnerable or marginalized children (e.g., refugees, IDPs, children with disabilities).
  • Understanding of Education in Emergencies (EiE) frameworks and standards (e.g., INEE Minimum Standards).
  • Familiarity with child-centered, participatory, and inclusive teaching methodologies.
  • Knowledge of Psychosocial Support (PSS) and Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) techniques.
  • Ability to deliver life skills, peace education, or emergency curricula.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to teach and communicate effectively in the local language and/or language of instruction.
  • Commitment to child safeguarding, gender equality, and non-discrimination
