Major Responsibilities:
- Assist the lead facilitator in preparing weekly or daily FPSS session plans, ensuring they are age-appropriate and contextually relevant.
- Help organize materials, tools, and the physical setup of the child-friendly space before each session.
- Contribute ideas for interactive and creative activities, such as games, storytelling, drawing, or role-play, that meet session objectives.
- Actively participate in the co-delivery of FPSS sessions, following structured curricula designed to help children process emotions, build resilience, and improve social skills.
- Support group management, ensuring inclusive participation from all children regardless of age, gender, or ability.
- Take the lead in small group activities or breakout tasks, especially for younger or more vulnerable children who may need closer attention.
- Observe children's behaviors and emotional responses during sessions to identify any signs of distress or withdrawal.
- Support children with special needs or developmental delays, ensuring they are included and engaged appropriately.
- Document session attendance accurately, and assist in collecting basic feedback or observations from children when required.
- Share observations with the lead facilitator or caseworker about children who may need further support or referral to specialized services.
- Assist in maintaining updated records and ensuring the confidentiality of all information related to children.
- Help implement child safeguarding and protection protocols at all times.
- Contribute to creating a safe, welcoming, and respectful space where children feel heard and protected.
- Monitor child behavior and mediate peer conflicts or bullying in a constructive and supportive way.
- Maintain close communication with the lead facilitator to ensure smooth flow of sessions.
- Attend regular training sessions on FPSS methodologies, child protection, and psychological first aid.
Professional Standards:
All RMF staff are required to adhere to the RMF policies and practices with respect to child protection minimum standards, code of conduct, health and safety, equal opportunities and other relevant policies and procedures.
Job Requirements:
- University degree in Education, Social Sciences, Development Studies, or a related field.
- Training in child protection, psychosocial support, or mental health is a strong asset.
- Experience at least one year in working with children affected by conflict, displacement, or trauma is highly preferred.
- Strong facilitation, communication, and advocacy skills.
- Solid understanding of child development and behavior, Psychosocial support principles, and protection concerns affecting vulnerable children.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Sensitivity to cultural, gender, and protection issues.
- Results-oriented, flexible, and adaptable.
- High integrity and respect for confidentiality and child safeguarding.
