About the Project


This position is part of a collaborative initiative between FISTA, Restart Center, and Shabake, under the SHABAKE 2 program titled “Advancing Inclusivity, Protection, and Resilience for Persons with Disabilities in North Lebanon.” The project aims to bridge critical gaps in mental health and psychosocial support services for persons with disabilities and individuals with severe mental disorders. Through a holistic approach that combines specialized care, community-based support, and institutional capacity building, the initiative promotes inclusion, protection, and resilience. It also works closely with local authorities and service providers to ensure long-term impact and sustainability in the healthcare and social sectors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Facilitate group drama therapy sessions tailored to the needs of detainees.
  • Design and implement therapeutic programs that foster self-expression, healing, and personal growth.
  • Collaborate with Restart Center’s multidisciplinary team to ensure integrated care.
  • Maintain detailed records of sessions and monitor participants’ progress.
  • Engage in ongoing training and supervision to refine therapeutic practices.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Drama Therapy or a related field.
  • Certification or licensure as a Drama Therapist.
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in therapeutic settings, preferably within detention or trauma-affected environments.
  • Proven experience in developing and implementing therapeutic programs.
  • Strong understanding of trauma and the psychological impacts of detention.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proposed session rate will be considered as part of the selection process.

Evaluation Criteria

  • Applicants will be assessed based on the following criteria:
  • Educational Background – Relevance and level of academic qualifications and certifications.
  • Experience in Drama Therapy – Depth of experience in therapeutic settings using drama techniques.
  • Experience in Detention Settings – Prior work with incarcerated populations or within detention facilities.
  • Therapeutic Program Development – Ability to design and implement effective therapeutic interventions.
  • Collaboration with Multidisciplinary Teams – Experience working alongside mental health and social work professionals.
  • Understanding of Detention and Trauma – Knowledge of trauma-informed care, particularly in detention contexts.
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills – Ability to engage effectively with diverse individuals and teams.
  • Proposed Rate – Cost-effectiveness of the candidate’s proposed session rate.
