Mental health nurses work as part of a team of professional and medical staff that includes doctors, social workers, therapists and psychiatrists. The nurse is responsible of providing quality nursing care to all patients at Restart Center projects.
- Assessing and planning nursing care requirements

- Distribute and deliver drugs according to the medical prescription
- Ensure chronic therapy/drugs are available and at reach for patients at all times.
- Ensure the chronic therapy is strictly followed, as advised by doctor
- Follow-up with the medical consultants to complete their prescription in case of incomplete information (dosage, duration, follow up dates…).
- Indicate the dosage of the drugs on the drug dispensing bag.
- Provide the needed Guidance to the patients on how to take and comply to the treatment and explain the side effects.
- Build relationships with, reassuring, listening and talking to patients. As well as combating stigma and helping patients and their families deal with it.
- Agree and review care plans and monitoring progress.
- Giving advice and arranging support for patients, relatives and liaising with doctors, social workers and other professionals.
- Assess treatment success at case conferences and meetings.
- Closely collaborate (on regular basis) with the pharmacist and pharmaceutical companies regarding the procurement of medications.
- Write and update patient records.
- Closely Collaborate with the Senior Finance Officer and Project coordinator regarding procurement of drugs and related expenditures.
- Conduct physical examination a first assessment when needed.
- To prepare and perform health education sessions, where the nurse Is intitled to diffuse key messages re hygiene, safe water, nutrition, family planning ….)
- Participate actively in the monitoring and the reporting of medical activities (correctly fill in patient files, forms, statistics, reports)
- Ensure a relevant transfer of information to line manager
- Perform monthly report on the number of patients receiving drugs and other variables…
- In emergency cases, referral/ accompany/ follow-up of the patient to higher level care.
