Registered Nurse for Mental Health

Restart Center for Victims of Violence and Torture is looking for a Nurse to work within the UNHCR-funded Program on Mental health services to refugees and asylum seekers in Lebanon. 

• Monitor patient’s condition and assess their health and mental health needs to ensure the optimal care.
• Observe and interpret patient’s symptoms and communicate them to physicians
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses and social workers to devise individualized care plans for patients
• Dispense patients with psychotropic, neurological and general medications.
• Adjust and administer oral medication and follow-up on patients who fail to continue/adhere to their treatment.
• Assist patients in better understanding
• Maintain a database of patients in order to keep individual record or register for the treatment protocol related to each patient.
• Participate in case conferences along with other team members to monitor, evaluate and report on the individual cases;
• Conduct specific orientation sessions for parents in relation to the TP of the child, as children treatment protocol is under their full responsibility.
• Provide medical guidance to the patients on the appropriate and safe use of the psychotropic medications and other pharmacological treatment protocols based on the physicians written prescription.
• Refer patients to laboratory and Radiology services upon physicians requests and follow-up on results.
• Perform medical data entry    
• Perform routine procedures (blood pressure measurements, administering injections etc.) and fill in patients’ charts
• Provide instant medical care in emergencies
• Provide reports and statistics about the patients upon request

  Education and Skills:

•  Proven experience as a registered nurse with a valid practice license
•  BSc from a valid nursing program
•  Excellent knowledge of nursing care methods and procedures in mental and general health
•  Excellent knowledge of emergency care
• In-depth knowledge of mental health and safety guidelines and procedures and willingness to follow them at all times
• A team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Responsible and compassionate
• Outstanding organizational and multi-tasking skills
• Good Problem-solving skills
