Terms of Reference (TOR) for Communication Consultant - 2026

Right to Play is seeking a communications consultant to support the country office
communication planning and implementation during 2026 mainly focusing on RTP ongoing
projects, internal communications and marketing as well as supporting some public relations
that promotes RTP in Lebanon. The aim of this consultancy is to develop the communication
plan and activities for RTP in Lebanon, manage social media channels, develop content to
amplify the impact of RTP’s programs on children and young people, and assist in enhancing the
organization’s overall brand in the country. The consultant will support public outreach and
media relations, and they will contribute to the local advocacy and fundraising efforts. He/She
will also lead on coordination and communication of events and visits from key stakeholders
when needed. The consultant will work closely with Right To Play’s global marketing and
fundraising teams to support the organization’s global communication and marketing plans.
The consultant will work closely with the Country Director in Lebanon, Programs and MEL team,
and will be technically guided and supported by the Global Marketing and Communications
teams. The expected number of days under this consultancy is up to 140 days for a period of 12
months, to be confirmed upon signature of the agreement , 43 of these days are subject to
donor approval.
Expected Tasks

  • Develop RTP Lebanon Communications Plan 2026 in line with global communications objectives and guidelines
  • Develop and Implement RTP Lebanon project communication plans
  • Manage Right to Play Lebanon social media and communication platforms including Facebook, Instagram, Facebook Workplace, SharePoint and Play space.
  • Create compelling photo, video, and written collateral and content that communicates Right To Play’s work and impact.
  • Update RTP Lebanon communication toolkit as needed (informational and promotional material, project briefs, impact and reach data, key messages…)
  • Create and edit designs for communications materials and brand merchandise and liaise with printing and design companies to see them realised.
  • Build and Maintain RTP Lebanon contact list
  • Establish contacts with media and write media releases and success stories.
  • Develop a system to produce personal stories, quotes and photographs of children and other stakeholders we work with in our programs; oversees photo archiving.
  • Closely monitor and track media coverage for RTP in country.
  • Conduct field visits to project sites and ensure proper dissemination of information for events and success stories.
  • Ensure compliance with Right To Play brand and messaging guidelines, Right To Play Policies (including in particular, Right To Play’s Child Safeguarding policy and consent guidelines), and other policies as needed, and any relevant government  legislation.
  • Support in the internal communication within RTP Lebanon and globally
  • Collaborate with the HQ Communications and Marketing Team to fulfill communications requests
  • Ensure proper documentation of communications materials.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (Must have):
a) EDUCATION/TRAINING/CERTIFICATION:
 Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, journalism or a related field
b) EXPERIENCE:
 5 years’ experience working with I/NGOs in the country of operation in a
communications role.
 Experience creating high-quality written, photographic, and video content
 Experience collecting success stories
 Experience with media relations
 Experience managing social media accounts
 Experience with graphic design
 Experience working with global colleagues
 Experience providing communications and brand training
 Experience managing building relationships with and managing external
communications vendors
 Experience in working according to child protection and child safeguarding best
practices, especially with regards to photography and videography involving minors.

 Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
 Ability to proofread and ensure consistency and the highest quality of professional
presentation in all communication products.

(D) TECHNICAL SKILLS:
 Strong Office 365 skills, especially Word, PowerPoint, and Sharepoint
 Experience with Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, and other social
media platforms
 Experience with Canva
(E) LANGUAGES:
Excellent in written and spoken English and Arabic skills
V. DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS (An Asset):
 Experience in photography and videography (filming and editing)
 Fluent with standard photo and video editing software like Adobe Photoshop,
Illustrator, Premiere Pro
 Understanding of human rights and social change issues
