BLN Trainers (Accelerated Vocational Training Centre for the Socio-Economic Inclusion in the North)

  1. Background

Safadi Foundation is launching the second phase of its Accelerated Vocational Training Centre for the Socio-Economic inclusion in the North. The project’s main overall objective is to stimulate sustainable economic participation of vulnerable youth to promote their inclusion in the development of marginalized communities. In the long-term, inclusion can transform youth socio-economic outlook making them active participants in decreasing unemployment rates and increasing their household income. The specific objective of this project will be to develop youth employability through comprehensive training programmes. Target beneficiaries will have access to accelerated market-based training and self-development programs that will prepare them to increase their competitiveness in the skilled labour market. Finally, the project will aim to strengthen private sector and national actor engagement in active labour market programmes, by participating in developing an effective labour programme leading to significant reduction in identified skills gap.

  1. Purpose

Safadi Foundation is seeking to recruit a highly motivated and experienced Trainers to join its training team who can provide BLN courses.

This training will target trainees from marginalized areas located in the North and/or Akkar who have been out of school for two years and more and thus lack the minimum learning skills to either join formal education or become employable.

The Training will take place in Tripoli and/or Akkar.

BLN courses shall be focusing on: Language (English, Arabic), Math, and Computer Skills noting that those basic literacy and numeracy skills should be related to each type of technical training as provided to trainees.

The successful national candidate will be expected to:

  • Provide a training content based on the shared curricula, field manuals, and information database by SF team.
  • Provide advice on best practices in the relevant sector in Lebanon to maximize support for participants to market linkages.

The general objective of the proposed training is to train approximately 30 Youth on personal development in basic literacy and numeracy skills.

  1. Tasks and Responsibilities
  1. To use power Point Presentations, videos and case studies in training sessions.
  2. Final report of findings and recommendations: The Trainer shall report directly to the Head of Social Empowerment Unit, in particular. S/he will submit the following reports at the end of the training sessions:
  • Presentation of training outcomes to the SF field team and technical advisors;
  • Training Reports which includes: i) number of beneficiaries (disaggregated by gender and nationality), ii) session reports, iii) provide guidance for future steps.
  • Present a final report including recommendations (template available)

  • Availability: 1st of September
  • Duty station: Tripoli and/or Akkar
  • Contract Length: 2 Months

 

  1. Qualifications Required

 

  1. Person Qualifications:
  • Selected candidate should be an expert and have an advanced experience in providing similar trainings; at least 3 years of experience.
  • Strong experience in delivering training to multicultural attendees.
  • Knowledge and experience in working with NGOs/ local authorities for at least 3 years
  • Capacity to think creatively in dealing with vulnerable audience.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a supportive technical and communication style.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, demonstrated ability of designing effective presentations to Strong command in Arabic (the training language)
  • High reporting experience
  • Clear understanding of the political, geographic, and economic dynamics of Tripoli area.

  • Respect and promote SF’s Policies.
  • Address needs and requests in a professional way.
  • Report any incident or act that causes any harm to a beneficiary or to others.
  • Always respect a refusal of participation.
