For the expertise of BLN Trainers under Safadi Foundation

  1. Background

Safadi Foundation is launching a Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Programme for Syrian and Lebanese vulnerable youth affected by the Syrian crisis in Lebanon (Through short-term TVET Programmes). The strategic objective of this project is trifold in its approach to improve the employability of conflict-affected, vulnerable and disadvantaged youth in Lebanon. First, it aims to develop youth employability through market-oriented certified technical training programmes in addition to life skills, BLN, and Business Skills training programmes during crucial formative years, so as not to leave youth behind. Second, it aims to increase and facilitate youth employment and or self-employment, and enable them to become productive members of their society. Lastly, it aims to build the capacity of TVET instructors from the selected training institutions on life and work skills.

  1. Purpose

Safadi Foundation is seeking to recruit a highly motivated and experienced Trainers to join its training team who can provide Business Skills courses.

This training will target trainees from marginalized areas located in the North and/or Akkar.  covering two main topics:

    • Job-seeking techniques
    • Self-employment and freelancing techniques

So that trainees are able to be linked to possible income generation opportunities and/or can undergo formal recruitment processes.

The Business skills training will be focussing on: CV writing, self-presentation and interviews along with career guidance, mentorship sessions and Orientation.

The successful national candidate will be expected to:

  • Provide a training content based on the shared curricula, field manuals, and information database by SF team.
  • Provide advice on best practices in the relevant sector in Lebanon to maximize support for participants to market linkages.

The general objective of the proposed training is to train approximately 30 Youth on personal development in basic literacy and numeracy skills.

  1. Tasks and Responsibilities
  1. To use Presentations, videos and case studies in training sessions.
  2. Final report of findings and recommendations: The Trainer shall report directly to the Head of Market Integration Unit, in particular. S/he will submit the following reports at the end of the training sessions:
  • Presentation of training outcomes to the SF field team and technical advisors;
  • Training Reports which includes: i) number of beneficiaries (disaggregated by gender and nationality), ii) session reports, iii) provide guidance for future steps.
  • Present a final report including recommendations (template available)
  1. Contract Information
  • Availability: 15th of December
  • Duty station: Tripoli and/or Akkar
  • Contract Length: 2 Months

 

  1. Qualifications Required

 

  1. Person Qualifications:
  • Selected candidate should be an expert and have an advanced experience in providing similar trainings; at least 3 years of experience.
  • Strong experience in delivering training to multicultural attendees.
  • Knowledge and experience in working with NGOs/ local authorities for at least 3 years
  • Capacity to think creatively in dealing with vulnerable audience.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a supportive technical and communication style.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, demonstrated ability of designing effective presentations to Strong command in Arabic (the training language)
  • High reporting experience
  • Clear understanding of the political, geographic, and economic dynamics of Tripoli area.
  1. Years of Experience: 3-5 years of experience in working in similar field
  2. Competencies:
  • Show respect to beneficiaries’ confidentiality.
  • Respect and promote SF’s Policies.
  • Address needs and requests in a professional way.
